Jeremy Vine’s wife sends fans wild with genius plastic bag hack – with some saying it’ll ‘change their life’

ALTHOUGH most of us have every intention of working our way through our hundreds of bags for life, how many people out there just scrunch them up and throw them up the kitchen sink? Just us?

Well if anything is going to make us take a long, hard look at the impressive plastic bag collection we have sitting at home, it's this "life-changing" storage hack which Jeremy Vine's wife Rachel uses.

Sharing a 45-second tutorial with his 705,000 Twitter followers, the broadcaster wrote: "If you have too many bags for life, this is how you should store them."

Kicking off the short clip, Rachel delves into her plastic bag drawer (yes, an entire plastic bag DRAWER) and pulls out a screwed up Sainsbury's bag.

Poking fun at her husband, Rachel jokes that "someone has put that in all scrumpled" and says "let's guess" who it was.

The mum-of-two then puts the bag on the kitchen counter and smoothes out any creases.

Narrating her genius technique, Rachel said: "So you fold it in half, then you fold it in half again. Then you're aiming for little triangles.

"When you get to the point where you can't do any more triangles then you tuck in the last part."

Once the bag is a compact little triangle, Rachel ends the video by popping in back with the others. Mind = blown.

And we're not the only ones who are going to be folding each and every plastic bag we come across from now one.

Since Jeremy shared the video this morning, it's racked up over 67,000 viewes and 200 comments.

One impressed user replied: "This is going to change my life and I'm not even joking."

Labelling the mum a "genius", another user added: "New career opening up for Rachel??"

And a third went on to add: "My mum swears by the plastic bag samosas!!"

Adding their own tips into the mix, another wrote: "Take one large bag for life and stuff it with all your other bags for life.

"Put it in the car so you can take them for a ride when you go shopping to buy another bag for life!"

For more life hacks, this thrifty mum transformed her home using free wallpaper samples – and people have hailed her as an interior design "inspiration".

And this "freezer queen"'s food tips will save you a trip to the supermarket when you return from holiday – including freezing milk for tea.

Plus this mum used a £3.50 Asda spray to get rid of her washing machine mould in MINUTES.

Meghan Markle wears £85 shirt from sustainable British label that avoids plastic packaging after private jet backlash – The Sun

MEGHAN Markle stayed true to her green agenda when she opted for an eco-friendly British brand in a behind the scenes video shared yesterday.

The Duchess of Sussex cut a casual figure in an £85 striped shirt from London-based tailoring label With Nothing Underneath (WNU).

The label, founded by former Vogue stylist Pip Durell in 2017, packages its clothes in cotton pouches rather than single use plastic to boost its sustainability ethos.

Taking inspiration from menswear the classic boyfriend shirt is described as an “easy, throw-on” piece and has amassed exclusively five star reviews from its customers.

It is available to pre-order in all sizes on the brand’s website.

Meghan was seen wearing it in behind the scenes footage from her outing to the Smart Works shoot in London which was shared on the official Sussex Royal Instagram account on Wednesday.

  • Sky blue & white stripe linen shirt, £85, WNU – pre-order here

Following its appearance on the royal WNU posted a tribute to the Duchess on its own Instagram account.

Captioning a snap of Meghan on set, the brand said: “So incredibly honoured that The Duchess of Sussex chose to wear her WNU linen yesterday in London for a day with the incredible @smartworkscharity . Endlessly effortless and elegant, we are blown away.”

A post shared byW N U (@withnothingunderneath) on

Meghan wore the shirt in the behind the scenes video where she teased a first look at her new clothing collection for charity Smart Works which will hit the shelves in autumn.

Her sustainable fashion choice comes as Meghan and Prince Harry have come under firefor taking four private jets in 11 days while flying to Ibiza for Meghan's birthday and then to Elton John's £15million home in Nice.

The gas-guzzling trips have seen critics call the Sussexes hyprocrites after Prince Harry recently talked about saving the planet and climate change at Google Camp.

Elton revealed he paid for the private Cessna jets to and from his home – which would have cost around £12,000 – for the "couple's protection".

However, it is estimated the journeys would have generated seven times the emissions per person when compared to a commercial flight.

Stars such as Ellen DeGeneres, Pink and Jameela Jamil have since come out defending the couple for being "compassionate" individuals, and called for "bullying" to stop.

In other royal news, we revealed that Harry and Meghan won't be joining Kate and William this weekend in Balmoral.

And we shared how The Queen is astonished and very impressed by ‘Hurricane’ Meghan Markle’s work ethic, royal author claims.

Playboy model wears tiny bikini that leaves her looking NAKED from behind to celebrate her 34th birthday – The Sun

A PLAYBOY playmate has unveiled a bikini that’s so revealing it leaves her looking naked from behind.

Cassandra Sienega, known as CJ Sparxx online, celebrated her 34th birthday poolside with a very racy swimsuit.

The barely-there pink bikini left very little to the imagination as the cam girl and model partied at the Sapphire Pool in Vegas – known for being a topless day club.

The pink two piece covered barely covered her privates and her nipples to the extent that from the back she looked completely naked.

Since posting the tiny pink bikini snap four days ago, Cassandra's post has received almost 40,000 likes from her army of 568K followers.

She captioned the pic: "Celebrated my 34th birthday in style at @thesapphirepool with friends.

“Hands down the best birthday EVER! I'll definitely be back!"

Her fans were sent into a frenzy over the post, as one commented: "We need more outfits like these!"

Another said: "Now this is the most amazing thing I have seen today."

Meanwhile others rallied round to wish the model a happy birthday.

However, others weren't as impressed by the look, as one Instagram users quipped: "Should have just used band aids."

Another agreed adding: “Take it easy on the Internet…sheesh.”

This is not the first swimming costume to cause a stir this summer.

We previously told you about the "skinny dipping" bikini that claims you'll get "no more dodgy tan lines" – but it does give the illusion you're naked.

But the naked swimwear trend seems to be one that's here to stay with barely there swimwear flooding Instagram.

Katie Holmes looked totally different during her first red carpet appearance …

Katie Holmes has transformed right before our eyes.

Forever 21 x K-Swiss Is The Preppy Throwback You Never Knew You Needed

In middle school or high school, there were some brands that it felt like everyone had. Delia, Limited Too, and Gap conjure up images of old school catalogues and birthday wishlists. Now, Forever 21 x K-Swiss is coming to bring back on those feels with one of those old school brands you’ll always remember.

The Forever 21 x K-Swiss collection embraces everything that you remember of the brand in middle school. From the red, white, and blue color scheme to the preppy-inspired pieces, it’s basically like those 90s-era pieces got a modern makeover and a perfect price tag.

The new collection is perfectly timed for back to school season and embraces the preppy meets sporty vibes of the original K-Swiss pieces. Inside the Forever 21 collaboration, fans of both brands will find tennis-inspired skirts and tanks, windbreakers suits (yes, really), classic joggers, cable knit sweaters, and more modern pieces like cropped tees and bike shorts.

If you’re feeling this back to school nostalgia, you can snag the Forever 21 x K-Swiss collection beginning Aug. 22 both online and in Forever 21 stores. Plus, like all of Forever 21’s goods, the prices are totally right. All of the pieces in the collection retail for $15-$40.

Lately, Forever 21 seems like the reigning champion of collaborations, but according to the brand’s Vice-President of Merchandising Linda Change, K-Swiss holds a special place in the brand’s hearts. Chang says in a press release, "K-Swiss is a very special collaboration to us because they are a heritage brand that has so much history. We combined classic vintage sportswear with modern streetwear using their throwback logos, creating a preppy meets street vibe. K-Swiss was a pleasure to work with, offering collaborative input and great ideas throughout the design process."

As for K-Swiss, the collaboration was all about how Forever 21 could take the nostalgia-inducing brand and create a more modern feel. Barney Waters, K-Swiss brand president says in a press release, "When it comes to back-to-school, K-Swiss sparks nostalgia in everyone. With this collection and campaign, Forever 21 has modernized that emotion perfectly."

The new K-Swiss collaboration is far from Forever 21’s first foray into reintroducing nostalgic brands in new and modern ways. Back in June, Forever 21 helped relaunch Baby Phat, Kimora Lee Simmons-Leissner’s iconic streetwear brand after she reacquired the rights to the brand back in March. The exclusive collection of knits was exclusive with Forever 21 and limited edition.

Prior to the brand’s work with Baby Phat, it had teamed up with another recognizable name. The Forever 21 x Speedo collection from May of this year focused on the brand’s 80s vibes with neon hues, ultra-cropped tops, and of course, swimwear.

If you want to get in on the back to school nostalgia, you can shop the Forever 21 x K-Swiss collection right now both online and in-stores at Forever 21. From cable knits to tennis skirts, it’s the preppy collab you never knew you needed.

Totally Twinning! Catherine Zeta-Jones and Daughter Carys, 16, Wear Matching Outfits on Vanity Fair Spain Cover

As if Catherine Zeta-Jones, 49, and her daughter Carys Zeta Douglas, 16, didn’t already look like twins, the mother-daughter-duo are the spitting image of one another on the cover of Vanity Fair Spain’s September issue.

Zeta-Jones and Carys don matching Fendi olive green coats and strike the same smoldering smizes in their cover shot. The only difference between the two? Zeta-Jones wears a crisp white button-down shirt with green trousers, while Carys wears a pussy-bow shirt with shorts.

This doesn’t mark the first time the mother-daughter duo posed for magazine covers — or September issues — together. Carys made her cover debut beside her mother for Town & Country’s 2018 September issue.

In their Vanity Fair Spain interview, The Mask of Zorro actress opens up about how she met her husband, Michael Douglas, 74, their 15-year age difference, her father-in-law Kirk Douglas and her hopes that Carys follows in her footsteps.

“When I was younger I didn’t like the idea of having [my dad’s] name attached, this kind of ‘Douglas Dynasty’ stuff,” Carys told Town & Country last September. “I think what bothers me the most is that people think I don’t work hard for it, when, honestly, I feel like it’s the opposite. I feel I need to constantly prove myself to people – that I am not just my parents’ daughter.”

Carys has recently been enjoying time in the spotlight with both of her parents, including attending Town & Country’s 50 Modern Swans party and sitting front row at fashion shows like Michael Kors and Dolce & Gabbana.

“Fashion has been so important in my life, because my mom is like a fashion icon to me,” she said in the Town & Country interview. “I’m always looking through her closet.”

Recently, the entire Douglas family got together for a reunion in an Instagram photo posted by Michael’s son Cameron Douglas.

The whole family including Michael’s 102-year-old father Kirk Douglas, son Dylan, 19, Carys and Zeta-Jones were all on-hand. And once Zeta-Jones and Carys shared their September issue cover shots on Instagram, Cameron was one of the first people to add a comment. “Gorgeous 💎,” he wrote on Zeta-Jones’ post.

“You ladies are smoking 🔥,” he left on Carys’.

RHOC's Tamra Judge Is Giving Away Her Old Wedding Dress to a Bride in Need: 'Only Worn Once!'

Tamra Judge is holding on to the ultimate piece of Housewives memorabilia — and she’s ready to give it away to one lucky fan in need.

The Real Housewives of Orange County star, 51, has uncovered the white wedding dress she wore to marry ex-husband Simon Barney in 1998, and she’s donating it to a bride-to-be looking for a gown of her own.

Judge posted about the giveaway on Instagram, Wednesday, a day after the dress showed up on the latest episode of RHOC.

Her mother, Sandy Baker, had been keeping the dress in her closet throughout the years, carrying it around with her from house to house. She found it when she was moving into her new apartment, and gave it back to Judge.

“I haven’t seen the dress in 20 years,” Judge said on the episode. “I though I threw it away. I had no idea my mom was holding on to my wedding dress.”

Though the dress didn’t have the best memories for Judge — seeing as her marriage with Barney, which ended in 2011, was contentious and split their family apart — the reality star still admitted on RHOC that the dress was “cute.”

That’s why she decided to pay it forward.

“Do you know someone that is in need of a size 2 white wedding dress?” Judge wrote on Instagram. “I’m giving my wedding dress away 👰🏼 to someone in need. It’s in perfect condition (only worn once 😂).”

Interested parties must follow Judge’s company, Vena CBD, on Instagram, tag their friend, and tell them why they want the gown. Only residents in the USA will be considered.

Judge will be announcing the lucky recipient this weekend.

As for the dress itself, it’s a strapless gown with a fitted bodice, full skirt, and sheer high-cut neckline.

On her big day, Judge paired it with white silk gloves and a matching veil.

Tamra Judge

Prior to marrying Barney, Judge wed Darren Vieth from 1985 to 1990. She’s currently married to Eddie Judge, whom she wed in her own spinoff special — RHOC: Tamra’s OC Wedding — in 2013.

The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Tuesdays (9 p.m. ET) on Bravo.

  • Self-expression
  • Community cooperation
  • Civic responsibility
  • Gifting
  • Decommodification
  • Participation
  • Immediacy
  • Leaving no trace

The Burning Man festival began as bonfire ritual on the summer solstice of 1986 when an 8ft tall wooden man was set alight on Baker Beach in San Francisco as a spontaneous act of “radical self-expression” by a group of friends.

What happens at the festival?

Anything you want!

There are no acts booked, no entertainment is provided and there is no corporate sponsorship.

Essentially, ticket holders enter a “decommodified” space that focuses on who are person is rather than what they have.

Participants are encouraged to collaborate, be inclusive, creative, connect and clean up after themselves.

Each year, the festival has a theme – for 2018 it was “I, Robot”.

Past themes have included Fertility, Wheel of Time, The Inferno, The Body, The Floating World, Beyond Belief, Vault of Heaven, Psyche, Hope and Fear, The Green Man, The American Dream, Evolution, Metropolis, Fertility 2.0, Caravansary, Carnival of Mirrors, da Vinci’s Workshop, and Radical Ritual.

When is the festival in 2019?

The 29th edition of Burning Man is set to take place in the week leading up to Labour Day in the USA – which is on September 2, 2019.

The festival is set to kick off  on August 25 and end on September 2, 2019.

It is held in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada, 100 miles from Reno.

How much do tickets cost and when do they go on sale?

It's to late to snag tickets for this year's festival, however it's never too early to start saving up for next year.

Tickets cost between $190 (£147) to $1,200 (£931) for the eight-day event – that’s before tax and admin costs.

Vehicle passes cost an extra $80 (£62).

There is nothing to buy at the festival for the duration – so participants are required to bring enough sustenance for a week, including food, shelter, drinks, medication and personal hygiene supplies, as well as a small portable cooker.

Participants are also required to bring enough water to make it through the week in the desert.

A shuttle service is available to take you to the nearest grocery store if you fall short of urgent supplies – bus tickets cost $10 (£8).

As the event is so close to Labour Day, participants will also be hit with high travel costs for flights.

The festival currently attracts around 68,000 people annually – with organisers hoping to reach the 100,000 mark in coming years.

Tickets for 2020 will go on sale in the New Year, with around 5,000 up for pre-sale registration.

The rest will be released for sale a few weeks later.

I was left paralysed and nearly died after using a friend's make-up brush

A YOUNG mum who used her best friend's make-up brush was left paralysed just hours later.

Jo Gilchrist, 31, was struck down by a rare condition after making the split-decision to borrow the brush – simply to cover a pimple.

What Jo didn't realise was her friend had a boil, that was infected with a nasty bacteria.

About a month later, the single mum from Queensland started enduring agonising pain, which she put down to back ache.

However, tests revealed Jo actually had a deadly MRSA staph infection, which had invaded her body through a small opening in her skin.

She was airlifted from her country hometown of Warwick to Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital where doctors told her she had been left paralysed from the chest down and would never walk again.

Jo was forced to care for her son Tommy, who was just three at the time, with the news that she would be wheelchair-bound for the rest of her life.

She said: "Over about the course of a month, I started getting horrendous back pain.

"Eventually I ended up being paralysed from my chest down.

"It ended up being an MRSA staph infection which is the most dangerous form of staph.

"It would have gone through a cut or pimple on my face, travelled around my body and implanted in my spinal cord.

"By the time I got to the Brisbane hospital, they were basically telling me to say goodbye."

What is a staph infection?

Staphylococcal infections are a group of infections caused by the bacterium Staphylococcus.

They are commonly called staph infections.

Staph bacteria can cause a wide range of infections, from relatively minor skin infections such as boils, to more serious infections of the blood, lungs and heart.

Staph bacteria are usually spread between people through close skin contact or by sharing contaminated objects, such as towels or toothbrushes.

Staph infections can be broadly classified into two groups: skin and soft tissue infections, and invasive infections.

Soft tissue infections:

  • boils
  • impetigo – a highly contagious skin infection that mainly affects children, which can cause sores, blisters and crusts to develop on the skin
  • cellulitis
  • a skin abscess
  • folliculitis – an infection in the hair follicle
  • wound infections
  • scalded skin syndrome – where the skin looks like it is covered in blisters

Invasive infections:

  • joint infections
  • bone infections
  • pneumonia
  • heart infection
  • sepsis
  • toxic shock syndrome

Treatment:

Most skin infections will get better on their own, but may require antibiotics.

Invasive infections will often require treatment in a hospital.

Jo was then forced to undergo emergency surgery to remove an abscess that was strangling her spinal cord.

And medics told her she was unlikely to survive the condition, even after surgery.

However, the mum defied the odds and has since regained mobility in her legs after a year of physiotherapy and training.

Speaking on the Aussie version of This Time Next Year, she added: 'They told me they didn't think I would ever walk again and I told them no, this isn't how my story ends.

"It'll be a lot of heavy duty physio and through my own determination and fight that I'll get there. You watch me I'll come out here and I'll be running next year."

Appearing on the show later, Jo miraculously walked through the doors alongside her son, Tommy.

And she credited her little boy for motivating her to walk again.

She said: "I don't think I would be here if it wasn't for my little boy. He's the fight that gets me through everyday."

Music producer Lauren Hashian looked like a true beachy bride as she married longtime love Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson in a beachside wedding in Hawaii.

Hashian, 34, selected a stunning open-back Chantilly lace sheath gown by couture bridal designer Mira Zwillinger. The romantic, ethereal design features a plunging neckline and a matching open-back detail that highlights the fitted, embellished waist. And for brides-to-be still looking for their dream dress, you’re in luck: Hashian’s gown is still available for purchase at Moda Operandi for $12,540, and available in sizes 0 to 16.

As for Johnson, 47, he turned to the iconic label Ralph Lauren wearing lightweight dress shirt unbuttoned halfway down, crisp white trousers, which he teamed with a traditional Hawaiian leis draped over his shoulders for the ceremony.

Johnson and Hashian kept their wedding ceremony under wraps under wraps until surprising the world with a marriage announcement on Instagram.

“We do. August 18th, 2019. Hawaii. Pōmaikaʻi (blessed) @laurenhashianofficial❤️@hhgarcia41📸,” Johnson captioned the photos of himself with his bride.

Johnson and Hashian first met in 2006 while the actor was filming The Game Plan and started dating in 2007. They share daughters Jasmine, 3, and Tiana, 16 months.

While the couple has been together for over a decade, last July Johnson shut down rumors that they were secretly married, and explained that they weren’t in a hurry to wed.

“I just refer to her as my wife all the time. So a lot of people are like, ‘Oh, did you get married?’” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I’m like, ‘No. Easy. Don’t rush big daddy.’”
