Countdown legend Carol Vorderman, 60, has taken to Instagram to share her agony while struggling with exercise-induced muscle damage. The maths expert, who built a gym at her home in Wales during lockdown to keep fit, told her 126,000 followers that she was finding it hard to get up and down the stairs today due to her injuries.
Carol explained she was in pain due to her latest workout marking her first “big gym session” for a while.
She wrote on her Instagram Stories: “Had my first BIG gym session for quite a few weeks yesterday.
“Oooooohhh… hurty legs and butt this morning.
“Walking like a sensitive cowboy… ouch. Don’t even mention the staircase!!!!!
“Help,” the star then pleaded, alongside several laughing face emojis.
Carol also took to Twitter to share her struggles with fans, writing in view of her 466,000 followers: “Morning….had first BIG gym session for weeks yesterday
“……#HurtyStairs this morning….ouchy legs and things!!!
“Love it tho….the gym that is,”(sic) she clarified.
Fans took to the comments section of Carol’s tweet to send her their well wishes.
One person wrote: “Well done you not a gym person but went on my first walk in a month or so and I am hurting today !! I understand your pain.”
Another added: “Good morning gorgeous…they say no pain no gain… while you enjoy it keep going… Big love.”
A third fan commented: “Chin up Miss.”

A fourth penned: “So worth it Vorders you really do look absolutely gorgoues! You know, to be serious for a moment.”(sic)
Earlier this year, Carol’s fans warned her not to “overdo it” after she admitted she was too exhausted to move.
It came after the star shared a video of herself lying down on her sofa at home after completing an 11 mile walk for the second day running.
Carol admitted in the clip: “I am knackered. I’ve done about 11 miles, I did about the same yesterday.
“And I’ve got about five minutes before my weights session with Gus [her personal trainer].
“Help!” The star then exclaimed.
Carol went on to update her fans on her progress after training with weights for an hour.
The BBC Radio Wales host divulged while crawling across her living room floor: “I’m so knackered, I’m having to crawl. But, I did those, deadlifts.”
“I can’t move,” the star admitted.
