Drew Barrymore, 47, has vowed that she will never go under the knife for the sake of vanity as she gets older. The actress insisted she has never had any cosmetic procedures done, bucking the Hollywood trend, as she does not want to fight nature.

Despite having worked in film and TV for decades, the Charlie’s Angels star said she wishes to age naturally.

During a discussion about ageing with Halloween Ends actress Jamie Lee Curtis, 63, on The Drew Barrymore Show, the Scream actress expressed her opinions on the subject.

She said: “I’ve never messed with my face.

“I don’t want to fight nature.

“I’m raising two daughters, and we were raised in an industry where it was desired to drink off the fountain of youth and I just never subscribed to it.

“So I appreciate everything you said.”

The 50 First Dates actress advised that women should embrace the effects of time on their looks and the role of men in the equation.

“I think men just need to let women know ageing is safe and awesome,” she stated.

Drew, who shares daughters, Frankie, eight, and Olive, nine, with her ex-husband Will Kopelman, has never been one to shy away from giving her opinion on plastic surgery.

She explained another factor of fear is that she is concerned might get addicted to the process.

Drew said during a previous episode of her show: “The thing that I do care about and I do feel is still relevant to my life is the face.

“I know myself. I’m a highly addictive person.”

The Donnie Darko actress went on to state that she had known from an early age that she was not interested in going under the knife.

She said: “I think because I’m so rebellious that I saw all of that pressure and I saw all of those women torturing themselves to look a certain way and I thought, ‘You miserable people.'”

Barrymore concluded by saying she accepted the effects of ageing on her looks.

‘We’re going to age, things are going to go south, and it’s okay, it’s a part of life,’ she said.

The star also recently said that not only would she never get married again, but that she also hasn’t had a physical relationship with a man in the past six years.

Since she became a single mother, Drew has entered therapy and found that, for her, sex and love are two totally separate things.

“I needed to stay very celibate… mourning the loss of a nuclear family that I swore I would have for my daughters,” she explained on her show.

“After two kids and a separation from their father that has made me cautious, I have had the pleasure of shifting my focus when it comes to love for myself and my two daughters.”
