The long wait for Zack Snyder’s Justice League is finally over. Now streaming on HBO Max, the highly-anticipated film is giving the fans what they want, according to early reactions on social media.
During production of the original 2017 film, director Zack Snyder stepped down because of a family tragedy. Avengers director Joss Whedon stepped in to take his place. This creative shift resulted in the majority of Justice League being rewrote and reshot. After its release, the film was far from well-received by critics or fans. This led to years of campaigning from fans to see Snyder’s version of the movie come to fruition.
After what seems like a lifetime, Snyder decided to come back and finish what he started with this fan-fueled release. The new extended cut of Justice League is a re-edited version including original footage, new material, and upgraded CGI, truly reshaping the plot and characters. While there are definitely some improvements from its 2017 version, including a jaw-dropping final scene, what really blew DC fans away was the quick appearance of Jared Leto as The Joker and the CGI glow up of the film’s villain, Steppenwolf.
