The actor Robert Cormier, who played Finn Cotter on the Canadian television series Heartland, has died at the age of 33.

Cormier died on Friday, according to his obituary, though no details were revealed about his cause of death.

Following news of his death, UPtv, an American network that airs the CBC series, paid tribute to the rising star.

‘Robert Cormier, aka Heartland’s Finn, was an amazing talent, gone too soon. We are deeply saddened to learn of his passing. Our sincere condolences go out to his friends, family, and co-workers,’ the network wrote, adding a dove emoji.

The actor was picture in a still taken from Heartland. 

Cormier’s obituary notes that he was an ‘athlete, an actor, and a great brother.’

It also honed in on his dedication to others and unquenchable ambitions.

‘He had a passion for helping others and was always looking to achieve more,’ the tribute read.

Fittingly for an actor, Cormier was said to enjoy ‘movie nights with his family,’ and he ‘looked up greatly to his father’ Robert.

The obituary added that his ‘passion for art and film’ would endure past his death.

According to his IMDb biography, Cormier was born in Toronto, Canada, and he went on to become the first actor in his family.

After heading south to get a degree in Fire and Engineering Extension Services at Texas A&M.

He then attended a graduate program at Toronto’s York University in World Economics, but left before completing it to enroll in film school, which he graduated from.

Heartland’s own Instagram account paid tribute to the late actor. 

‘We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Robert Cormier. He was a beloved member of the Heartland cast the last two seasons,’ the post read. ‘On behalf of the Heartland cast and crew, our thoughts are with him and his family, who have asked for privacy during this difficult time.’

Cormier’s final Instagram post from late August showed him lying on the ground with his AirPods in while surrounded by scripts for the upcoming season of Heartland.

He began appearing on the series for its 15th season, when he became a new love interest for Amy, played by Amber Mitchell, who was featured with him in stills from the show.

His bevy of scripts suggest that he was set to appear in the 16th season, which premieres on October 2, though it’s not clear how prominent his character will be.
