Holly Willoughby burst into tears days before her wedding to Dan Baldwin

Holly Willoughby has revealed she “burst into tears” in the days leading up to her wedding to husband Dan Baldwin.

The This Morning host, 41, who earlier this year recalled how she met and fell in love with Dan, has spoken about her wedding as she and Dan, 47, prepare to celebrate their wedding anniversary next month.

The Dancing on Ice presenter spoke about her wedding to Dan as she reminisced over the big day 15 years ago.

"It feels like a very long time ago, we have been married 15 years this year so it feels very special, she told Wyldemoon.

She went on: "Those memories are still as fresh as they were on the day.

"It is a special, special time from the dress, to walking down the aisle, to the smell of those flowers that you will never forget, to seeing all your loved ones in one place."

Holly continued: "Just a complete celebration in its purest form."

The TV favourite did go on to recall that not everything went to plan for the couple.

The summer of 2007 when the pair tied the knot was one of the wettest on record and Holly feared the wet weather could ruin her special day.

She said: "Shortly before the wedding, I was working with Fearne [Cotton] and spotted one of the crew reading a newspaper with ‘5 Days Until Summer Begins’ splashed across the front page.

"I was getting married in 5 days! I burst into tears."

Holly and Dan were lucky however as the rain stayed away for their wedding. Now 15 years on the pair share three children together Harry, 13, Belle, 11 and Chester, seven.

Holly shared her memories of meeting Dan for the first time when appearing on Loose Women in January.

Holly spoke of her surprise of suddenly realising she fancied her friend after they began an intense friendship.

The star explained: “We met on Saturday mornings and we became really ridiculously close friends, it was this intensity of friendship for about 10-15 weeks and I remember cheersing him with a glass and I was looking at him and like 'Oh my God, I fancy him, I fancy my friend!'

“It took me so by surprise and I thought, 'Oh God, what's just happened?' And the relationship carried on. And I think in hindsight, I was falling in love with him. I think that's what that intensity was, but I didn't necessarily recognise it.”
