Strictly Come Dancing professional Karen Hauer, 39, has issued a positive health update after a knee injury forced her to pull out of the Strictly 2021 final last month.

Despite not actually competing in this year’s final, Karen injured herself during rehearsals for a group routine.

After seeing a specialist and having an MRI scan, the dancer was told she had a tear in her meniscus and damage to her cartilage.

Her injuries were not serious enough to require surgery, but she was ordered to stop dancing for one month while her body recovered.

After a four-week rehab programme, Karen has told fans she is now feeling “strong” and “determined”.

In the most recent series, Karen was partnered with actor Greg Wise before being eliminated in Week Four.
