Love Island 2019 saw its first ‘steal’ take place on Tuesday night – with Tommy poaching Lucie from Joe, right before his eyes.

The boxer – who is Tyson Fury’s kid brother – agonised over the decision after he and Curtis were sent into the villa as late entries on Monday night’s launch show.

Tommy – who expressed an interest in surfer Lucie from the get go – had been slightly wary, given that she was already partnered up with Londoner Joe.

The couple even enjoyed several smooches on Tuesday’s show – their first in front of Tommy himself.

Yet the boxer still swooped in and picked her during the re-coupling, leaving the villa in shock and Joe devastated.

As the episode drew to a close, a teaser clip saw what fans can expect on Wednesday night’s show – with Tommy taking Lucie on a date and Joe left out in the cold.

In the teaser, Lucie looked to have forgotten all about her heartbroken man as she is seen knocking back booze and throwing her head back with laughter on a date with the sportsman.

Amber is also seen in the teaser, telling Joe that ‘someone must’ve said something’ for Tommy to pick Lucie.

Curtis, meanwhile, stole air stewardess Amy from Scottish Anton.

He said: ‘The reason why I’m going to choose this young lady is because she’s funny, she’s good looking, she’s intelligent.

Love rivals? His choice of girl came as a slight shock to viewers as he was seen hitting it off with Yewande just moments before he was told to reveal his decision

‘So the girl I want to couple up with is Amy.’

His choice of girl came as a slight shock to viewers as he was seen hitting it off with Yewande just moments before he was told to reveal his decision.

Earlier in the Beach Hut, Tommy hinted that he’d go for Lucie over Amber – who he was also seen to have his eye on – when he said: ‘At the moment the girl I want to pursue is going to be Lucie. She’s a surfer, she goes to the gym. Her body is banging. She has beautiful eyes, a beautiful face, beautiful everything.’

Yewande said later in the Beach Hut of Curtis: ‘I think I do fancy him. He has amazing eyes and he is really nice’

Tommy told Curtis: ‘As it stands right now, it’s 50/50. I’m being honest with you, I don’t know’

Prior to making his big decision, Tommy was seen flirting with Amber, who said to him: ‘You should go with whatever your heart feels like, whatever your gut is telling you.’

He told Curtis: ‘As it stands right now, it’s 50/50. I’m being honest with you, I don’t know.’

Ahead of his decision, Curtis said in the Beach Hut: ‘I hadn’t actually spoken to Yewande before the challenge so I actually maybe would have liked to have given her a cheeky little peck.’

Don’t look Joe! In the teaser, Lucie looked to have forgotten all about her heartbroken man as she is seen knocking back booze and throwing her head back with laughter on a date with the sportsman

She seemed to feel the same, saying later in the Beach Hut: ‘I think I do fancy him. He has amazing eyes and he is really nice.’

Curtis later told Yewande he felt more confused about his decision since getting to know her, saying: ‘I don’t know what I’m going to do because I may have been swayed.’

And then he chose Amy.

Love Island airs nightly at 9PM on ITV2.
