Love Island star Adam Collard has addressed claims he split from Paige Thorne just days after the series came to an end.
Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti were announced as the winners of 2022 Love Island on Monday night, beating runners-up Gemma Owen and Luca Bish to the £50,000 prize.
Adam, 26, and Paige, 24, narrowly missed out on a place in the final as they were dumped from the villa the day before.
Since returning home to the UK, rumours have swirled that the pair are no longer together, after Paige made several appearances without Adam and attended the ITV2 series wrap party in London alone.
Adam — who first appeared on Love Island in 2018 — responded to the gossip as he posted a shirtless selfie showing off his abs this week.
After stating in the caption: “Don’t call it a comeback”, Adam answered a fan who had asked him: “Are you and Paige still together?"
Adam replied: "I bloody hope so since I'm seeing her tomorrow”, shutting down the split rumours.
He added: "Course we are [still together], I can't wait just family comes first x."
Fans have worried about whether Paige and Adam are built to last as they currently live miles away from each other. Paige resides in her home city of Swansea in Wales, while Adam is all the way up north in Newcastle.
While the couple had a relatively easy time together in the villa, Paige was confronted by her mum during Love Island’s Meet the Parents episode.
Paige’s mum brutally told her daughter that she’s “not buying” Adam’s interest in her.
Ex-Islander Amy Hart shared the same concerns as Paige’s mum over Adam, after he split with his former girlfriend before coming back into the villa.
Amy, 30, told The Mirror: "I think it’s only natural, especially with his reputation, to be wary. I hope he's a changed man."
Though she is cagey about the former bombshell, Amy admitted she thinks Adam and Paige share a good connection.
She said: "I do think they’re good together and I hope they do work, but this is the real test. When you’re sat all day on a beanbag it’s hard to have a normal relationship.”
Paige went to the Beach Hut after reuniting with her family as she described her mum's comments as "savage".
She looked embarrassed as she said: "My mum and her savage comments, I knew she would be! I was just like: 'Oh for God's sake!”
