Paddy McGuinness, 47, couldn’t resist aiming a swipe at former EastEnders star Patsy Palmer, 48, after she caused a stir by storming off Good Morning Britain. The star shut down her chat with GMB, which she filmed from her Malibu home after becoming angered by the ITV show’s strap line, which read, “addict turned wellness guru”.

Patsy objected to the strap line on-air, pointing out her 20-year battle with drink and drugs was “many, many years ago”.

The Top Gear host referenced the incident in a joke when he noticed his own GMB strap line during an appearance on the show today.

It read: “Paddy McGuinness: Comedy Genius.”

He quipped while chatting to hosts Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins: “Well done on the ‘Comedy Genius: Paddy McGuinness’, there’s no walking off here with that.

“I’m all over that. I’m going nowhere. I’ll be here on Monday. This is what you want.”

It comes after the actress “did a Piers Morgan” and cut her interview with Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard short on Wednesday.

GMB viewers saw Patsy shut down her computer while live on-air.

“You know what actually, I do not want to do this interview because I don’t even want to look at what it says at the bottom of the screen.

“So I’m just going to switch off, do a real Piers Morgan, and just say it’s not OK to have ‘Addict to wellness guru’ on the bottom of the screen,” she told hosts Ben and Susanna.

“My issues that I had years ago, that were talked about by me, many, many years ago, and it’s over.

“So I’m not going to talk to you,” she added before closing her laptop.

Patsy went on to tell fans on Instagram that she hadn’t written a book about her life in over 20 years, after Ben explained that the tagline used was a quote from her own release.

“I haven’t written a book in 20 years so don’t believe that either,” Patsy hit back.

“Guess what people!!!!

“People change and grow and live happy healthy lives, so stop trying to make people small and worthless,” she continued in view of her 327,000 followers.

“Finish it now,” the former soap star demanded.

She then thanked fans for their support following the dramatic moment, adding: “Thank you for all of your kind words.

“Hopefully you will all start living your best lives from now on not from then now.”

The mum-of-four added: “Move on we are supposed to change!!!!

“It’s a human condition.

“Can’t you see how controlled we all are!”
