Piers Morgan, 56, branded his close pal Amanda Holden, 50, the “most shameless back-stabber” after she admitted she’d kill him in a game of Marry, Snog, Kill. Her admission came during an appearance on Celebrity Juice back in 2019.

Host Keith Lemon had put the question to her, and after careful deliberation she answered honestly… with a hint of cheekiness.

And in his most recent Daily Mail column, Piers hasn’t forgotten the betrayal.

“When Amanda appeared on Celebrity Juice, host Keith Lemon asked her the following question: ‘David Walliams, Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan – sh*g, marry or kill?'” he penned.

“My closest and most loyal celebrity friend weighed up the potential career repercussions of her dilemma for half a nano-second, then declared: ‘I’ll sh*g Simon, marry David… and kill Piers.'”

He also labelled her the “funniest texter”, after being left in fits of laughter on multiple occasions.

He continued to gush over his friend, as he wrote: “My former Britain’s Got Talent co-judge Amanda Holden is the celebrity whose outrageous texts make me laugh out loud more than anyone else’s.

“She once sent me this missive from filming a Wild At Heart series deep in the South African bush: ‘Today, I’ve had to clean slime out of a pool, had peanut butter smeared on my neck so a dog would lick me, and watched my leading man pull a zebra’s entrails out.

“‘Kinda like working with you and Simon [Cowell] – only there’s slightly less blood!'”

The pair go back a long way, and are ever closer as they sat alongside each other on the popular ITV talent show in 2007.

And she’s made it clear their friendship runs so deep, that she will always have his back.

Back in March, Piers dramatically quit Good Morning Britain following his comments on Meghan Markle, and Amanda was among his famous friends who come out in support of him.

ITV bosses had asked the outspoke star to publicly apologise after more than 41,000 Ofcom complaints flooded in, following the huge fallout from his remarks about the Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Sharing a snap of the two to her Instagram story in April, she described him as “marmite”.

The former actress wrote: “We’ve both been described as Marmite in our time.

“I don’t always share the same opinions as him.

“But my goodness he’s a good and loyal friend.”

She added: “Always there for each other.”

The photo was from a their impromptu BGT reunion in the South of France, where both presenters were holidaying with their families.

They documented their lavish lunch in St Tropez with a series of photos.
