According to Food Network, Drummond’s Primavera Pasta Salad recipe calls for nearly 20 ingredients. However, the lengthy ingredient list — there are 17 in all — doesn’t mean it’s complicated or time-consuming. 

Featured on the “Spring Potluck Faves,” episode of The Pioneer Woman, Drummond’s Primavera Pasta Salad is a mix of colorful vegetables and pasta tossed together with a creamy dressing and fresh herbs. Dubbed an easy recipe by Food Network, the dish takes approximately 15 minutes to prep. After that, all that’s left to do is let Drummond’s Primavera Pasta Salad sit in the fridge for four hours or overnight.

How to make the Pioneer Woman’s Primavera Pasta Salad

Drummond’s Primavera Pasta Salad is made in three steps. According to Food Network, The Pioneer Woman host’s first step is to bring a large pot of water to boil for the pasta. The recipe calls for fusilli but any will do. She cooks the pasta per the package instructions before draining it and setting it aside to cool. 

Now for step two. While the fusilli cools down Drummond makes the dressing. She combines mayonnaise, milk, and sour cream in a bowl. Then she adds the juice and zest of a lemon along with chopped fresh herbs including parsley, chives, and mint. To finish off the dressing she sprinkles in parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. 

Finally, step three. In a large bowl, the Super Easy cookbook author mixes together the pasta and vegetables. Then she pours the dressing on, tossing everything until combined. After one final sprinkle of parmesan and black pepper, Drummond’s Primavera Pasta Salad goes into the fridge. Four hours later it’s ready to eat.

Drummond’s Primavera Pasta Salad isn’t the only primavera recipe from the Pioneer Woman. Like her beloved dessert, tiramisu, she has different versions of the classic Italian dish. 

One is a recipe for a 30-minute Mac and Cheese Primavera. Unlike Drummond’s Primavera Pasta Salad, this version is designed to be served warm. Additionally, it’s made with two different types of cheese instead of one.

Then there’s the Pioneer Woman’s Tortellini Primavera. Ready in 35 minutes, it’s got all the hallmarks of primavera from creamy sauce to lots of vegetables. However, in this version as the name suggests, the Food Network star uses cheese-filled pasta. 

Lastly, is Drummond’s take on the traditional Pasta Primavera. In this recipe, she uses fettuccine and a mixture of carrots, peppers, mushrooms, zucchini, and squash.
