Maya Vander has told fans she’s “taking it one day at a time” after tragically suffering a stillbirth earlier this month.
The 39 year old Selling Sunset star lost her third child 38 weeks into her pregnancy and previously shared her devastation on Instagram.
In her first post since she shared the sad news, Maya spoke candidly about her grief, writing: “This is not the Christmas Eve I had envisioned.”
Alongside a picture of herself, her husband Dave and their two children, she continued: “This was the day Mason would have come home with us. It’s been two weeks since I lost my child.
“I am smiling in the photo but I got to tell you, it’s been difficult. I never experienced grief this way.
“Our family is taking it one day at a time and we are just trying our best for the kids. I am extremely grateful for all the kindness and messages I have been getting.
“We are thankful for our children and know that it will be ok.”
Concluding the post with a rainbow emoji, Maya added: “I want to wish all of you happy holiday season! I hope and have faith that after the storm comes the [rainbow].”
Maya’s Selling Sunset co-stars soon shared their love and support in the comments, with series four newcomer Vanessa Villela writing: “Love you my beautiful Maya. Sending you a big hug.”
Heather Young added: “Love you [heart emojis] miss you.”
Maya told fans she had lost the baby on 10 December, posting a picture of the “memory box” she left hospital with.
She wrote in the caption: “Yesterday was the hardest day of my life. I had a stillbirth at 38 weeks.
“I always heard of it but never imagined I’ll be part of the statistics. Instead of delivering a baby, I get to go home with a memory box… I do not wish this on anyone.
“What was a regular weekly checkup turned into a nightmare that I never imagine will happen to me.
“Given I share my pregnancies in the show I knew I’ll have to post about this and avoid the “ when is your due date “ question. You will always be in our heart baby Mason.”
Maya’s pregnancies have featured on Selling Sunset and in season four, viewers saw her announce her pregnancy with baby Mason.
