We love a secret celebrity Instagram, where stars go to do their social media bidding away from prying eyes – and someone thinks they’ve uncovered Ben Affleck’s account.
Dubbed a ‘Finsta’ – AKA Fake Instagram – some stars have admitted to having private accounts that can’t be seen by fans and, well, anyone who isn’t in the inner circle, where they can post what they want and engage with their friends and pretend to be a normal person.
It’s a worthy pursuit, and apparently Ben is in on it.
One writer has scoped out what appeared to be the Batman actor’s secret online presence, with the rather brilliantly named @positiveattitudehunting, which is totally a play on his movie Good Will Hunting.
He’s a smart one, that Affleck.
In The Know reporter Kelsey Weekman seemingly uncovered the intriguing account on Thursday while getting their sleuth on to see if Ben’s public account – in which he boasts 4.3 million followers and over 162 posts – followed girlfriend Ana de Armas, when Weekman noticed the curious-looking ‘Ben’ and decided to bless the world with it.
While there really is no way of knowing if it’s THE Ben just from looking at the thing – he’d have enough people pretending to be him online – there are enough clues to suggest it is.
Let’s start with the profile photo, which is a picture of a couple kissing that looks an awful lot like Ben and his GF Ana.
That and the bio sports the line: ‘Just a dad who sometimes makes movies.’
Tick, tick – Ben is a dad (three kids with ex-wife Jennifer Garner) AND he sometimes makes movies.
The account has also linked to easterncongo.org which is the charity Ben co-founded.
Honestly, it’s like he wants us to know about this not-so-secret Instagram.
Cherry on the cake? @positiveattitudehunting is followed by only three accounts – two of them being Ana and Jen.
WHO IS THE HOLDER OF THE THIRD?
Honestly, we may never know what is hidden in those 35 posts, or who the elusive third follower is, but we can only assume it is social media gold.
Metro.co.uk contacted Ben’s reps for comment.
