Tom Fletcher has revealed a 17 year old fan of his called Tom Abisgold will replace him on the McFly tour as he recovers from COVID.
The 36 year old has been forced to take a step back from the live tour after testing positive for the illness, which means he will also miss this weekend's live Strictly Come Dancing show.
And Tom addressed fans about the impending future of his professional endeavours in a candid video shared to his Instagram platform on Monday evening.
"Thank you for all your messages. I'm fine!" he said of his health. "But it means I'm obviously isolating, and I can't finish the Mcfly tour, which I'm so gutted about. It hurts so much letting you guys down."
Noting that "the show must go on", Tom addressed his fans further, saying: "You guys have waited long enough for a night of fun and McFly entertainment that I know Danny, Dougie and Harry are more than capable of giving you without me.
"Obviously, it won't be quite as good without me, I hope," he added cheekily.
Speaking of his stand-in, Tom said: "We have a good friend of ours, who is also called Tom, funnily enough, he's standing in for me.
"He's been a McFly fan since he was five years old, singing along to Five Colours in Her Hair on TV.
"So it's amazing that he's standing in and actually getting to be a part of McFly for a couple of nights, so thank you, Tom."
The McFly singer's stand-in Tom has already seen mega success in the music industry, having won the Golden Buzzer while competing in Britain's Got Talent in 2019 with his band Chapter 13.
The band met while they performed in the West End production of School Of Rock in 2016.
Meanwhile, Tom also confirmed that he would be missing week two of Strictly.
"I'm sorry to all the Strictly team, and my fellow contestants and to my brilliant partner Amy, sending you lots of love.
"I'll be watching on Saturday, cheering you all on, guys. I cant wait to see your week two dances, and I'll be so jealous that I'm not there."
Tom said that he would be back for week three but was going to "rest and recover" until then.
Over the weekend, it was announced that Tom and his Strictly dance partner Amy Dowden had tested positive for Covid-19.
Amy, 31, also shared her own message and revealed that she thankfully isn't suffering from any symptoms.
The Welsh dancer posted: "Unfortunately, Tom and I have tested positive for COVID-19. I'm not suffering any symptoms but am now isolating at home."
Confirming that the pair will be back for the third live show, she added: "I have no doubt that over the next 10 days my mind will be going crazy with choreography ideas ready to get back on the Strictly dance floor for the live show in week 3!
"Thank you for all of the support and good luck to the couples this week, I will be cheering you all on!"
Tom and Amy impressed the Strictly judges with their debut dance, performing a cha cha cha to September by Earth Wind and Fire.
The pair scored a respectable 21 points of out 40, but with the standard being so high this year, Tom and Amy found themselves fourth from bottom on the leaderboard.
