After discussing Sabrina Parr’s past criminal record, Wendy talks about how not everyone is thrilled with Lamar’s engagement to the life coach, ‘particularly Lamar’s 17-year-old son Lamar Jr.’
AceShowbiz –Wendy Williams weighed in on the drama surrounding Lamar Odom and his engagement to girlfriend Sabrina Parr in the Wednesday, November 13 episode of her talk show. The 55-year-old host showed support to the professional basketball player’s son who previously posted an Instagram rant as he felt blindsided for the engagement before eventually apologizing.
After discussing Sabrina’s past criminal record, Wendy talked about how not everyone was thrilled with Lamar being engaged to the life coach. “Particularly Lamar’s 17-year-old son Lamar Jr. He was upset because he found out about this engagement on social media. Family and friends are like, ‘Who and what? Sabrina what?’ ” said Wendy.
The host continued, “By yesterday morning, Lamar Jr. went on the gram and apologized, saying that he was emotional and caught off guard also that he has nothing but love for his dad. But here’s the thing, at the very least you’re supposed to make big announcements about your life to your family, behind the scenes. And then you go in front of the scenes and you talk about stuff. But, these are his two kids.”
Since it appeared that Lamar didn’t tell any of his family members before making the announcement, Wendy felt that Lamar Jr. had all the right to feel upset. “I agree with Lamar Jr., and good for you young man to take it down, but you don’t have to. I understand what you’re saying,” she said. Later on, Wendy gushed over the “beautiful” ring that Lamar got for her now-fiance Sabrina, whom he has been dating for three months.
After Lamar shared on Instagram that he’s now an engaged man, his son reacted to the engagement news in a now-deleted post that read, “Not a text or a phone call to see how people who’ve know this dude his whole life to see how we would feel or react. Knew shawty for 4 months and already got you twisted.”
Hours later Lamar Jr. backtracked on his initial comment. “Last night I was emotional seeing my father got engaged through social media,” he posted along with a throwback photo of him and his sister Destiny Morales-Odom with their father. “At the end of the day, I am a teenager, that is becoming a young man. I have to be responsible for what I post, I have nothing but love for my dad and want what’s best for him.”
