YoungBoy Never Broke Again was arrested on drug-related charges in Louisiana.
The rapper was among 16 people who were arrested on drug and firearms charges in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Monday, September 28, according to reports.
YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, is also reportedly facing three weapons charges, including possession of a stolen firearm and felon in possession of a firearm.
According to the Baton Rouge Sheriff Office’s website, the rapper was charged with possession of a schedule 1 drug, as well as distributing and manufacturing of schedule 2 and 4 drugs.
“Kentrell Gaulden is innocent of the crimes he was arrested for yesterday evening. He did not possess any firearms nor did he possess any controlled dangerous substances,” his attorney James Manasseh said in a statement.
He added, “No firearms or controlled dangerous substances were found on Mr. Gaulden’s person or in his immediate control.”
Meanwhile, 2020 has been a great year for YoungBoy as the rapper’s latest album Top became his third No. 1 album on Billboard 200 within 11 months.
The rapper first topped the list with AI YoungBoy 2, which debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated October 26, 2019 and earned his second No. 1 with 38 Baby 2 on May 9, 2020.
