I quit my 9-5 job to work on superyachts – I get to travel and see amazing things and it doesn’t cost me a penny | The Sun

MOST of us likely have the urge to just quit our jobs and go travelling, but for some this urge actually becomes a reality.

TikToker Liberty from @travelwithliberty did just this, quitting her 9-5 job to work on superyachts, which she has now been doing for four years.

Liberty regularly shares videos about her life working at sea, and recently posted about the pros and cons of the job.

She says that one of the biggest pros is the money: “It’s a great way to save, you don’t have any overheads, you don’t pay rent, you don’t pay any bills, you have a toiletry cupboard that’s fully stocked that you can just help yourself to.”

Liberty adds that thanks to the lack of costs it's a great way to save up and invest in property and/or buy designer handbags, if you wish to.

Another huge pro is obviously the travel, this being what draws so many people to the yacht worker life.

Liberty says that through her job she’s gone to places she would never have gone to otherwise, and some she didn’t even know existed before joining the yacht.

Listing more pros Liberty says that she loves how much she’s now able to work outside, and that she loves working with the other people on the yacht, adding that she’s been able to form close friendships with so many fellow yachters.

It’s not all glamorous though, and Liberty has shared some of the cons of working on a superyacht.

Speaking on the downsides of this lifestyle, she says: “you work long hours and you can often work for long periods of time with no days off.

“Secondly, you are in a confined space with lots of other people, and if you’re having a bad day then the smallest thing can tick you off.”

Liberty also adds that at times the job can be quite repetitive with you having to do the same tasks over and over again.

“But all in all, I would say that the pros definitely outweigh the cons” she finishes.
