I visited an Amazon Fresh for the first time – my review has left the internet divided

A SHOPPER is sharing a review after visiting an Amazon Fresh location for the first time, but his thoughts on the tech-heavy store have divided the internet.

The TikToker documented his visit in a video and shared his honest thoughts on the platform.

“I love the technology in Amazon Fresh,” TikToker @DaPoets says to start the video, pointing to the outside of the store.

He then goes through the store putting items into his cart. But it's not a regular shopping cart.

Items are scanned automatically when placed in it. Then, a screen in front of the cart's handlebar updates the shopper's total bill.

The TikToker puts a handful of items in the cart before hitting the toilet paper aisle.

There, he tosses a package of toilet paper into his cart to see if the item will still be automatically scanned, despite not being properly placed into the cart. The item was scanned and the screen reflected an updated total.

At the end of his visit, the shopper rolls through the Amazon Dash Cart Lane.

While the technology is not explained in detail, the shopper rolls his cart through the lane for cardless, contactless payment.

The screen on the cart shows a final total and a "payment processing" screen while he continues to wheel his cart down the lane.

"Reasonable prices," @DaPoets responded.

Some commenters called the store and technology "unnecessary" while another said, "I like technology but I like humans more."

@DaPoets responded by saying, "someone has to build and service the tech, stock the shelves, fulfill the orders."

The Sun contacted Amazon for comment in response to some of the viewers' concerns and has yet to hear back.
