How much do Emmerdale actors earn?

Emmerdale, Coronation Street, and EastEnders all pay their actors in the same way, with each soap star awarded a fee for every episode they are in.

This fee can range from £400 to £2,000, depending on the storyline of the actor, popularity and time on the soap.

The majority of actors have a guaranteed number of episodes per year and a repeat fee, which gives them a stable income.

Salaries in soap land can range from around £12,000 to over £200,000 depending on how often an actor appears in the show.

Those who appear in Emmerdale regularly will have racked up a generous salary over the years. For example, Danny Miller has starred in over 1,400 episodes as Aaron Dingle over 13 years, so there's no doubt the actor has amassed a small fortune during his stint on the soap.

How much do Coronation Street actors earn?

Coronation Street actors are paid in the same way as Emmerdale stars, and some Weatherfield regulars have landed huge contracts over recent years.

Long-serving cast member Jack P Shepherd, who portrays David Platt, reportedly signed a new contract worth £250,000 in October 2018.

Fellow soap regular Simon Gregson is believed to earn around £150,000 a year for portraying iconic character Steve McDonald.

There are 260 episodes over Corrie broadcast every year, offering many actors the chance to earn a fair wage.

Many stars of the ITV soap rake in thousands thanks to deals away from ITV, including store openings and sponsorship deals.

How much do EastEnders actors earn?

While EastEnders actors are also paid in the same way, the BBC has stricter rules when it comes to work outside of the soap.

Those who star in the soap reportedly must seek permission before taking on other work, such as voiceovers or personal appearances. They are also prohibited from taking part in TV or social media adverts.

However, EastEnders has an annual budget of £29.9million, of which £6.9million is spent on paying actors and extras.

EastEnders' longest-serving cast member, Adam Woodyatt, aka Ian Beale, reportedly takes home a figure between £200,000 and £250,000.

Iconic actor Danny Dyer, who portrays Queen Vic landlord Mic Carter, allegedly takes home a home a whopping £400,000 for his role on the soap

Other stars believed to be amongst the show's highest earners are Steve McFadden, June Brown, and Natalie Cassidy.
