Strictly Come Dancing star Nina Wadia has given fans a glimpse inside her gorgeous home on Instagram.

The actress, who is best known for her role as Zainab Masood on EastEnders, is currently appearing on the BBC competition alongside the likes of Dan Walker and Judi Love.

The 52-year-old, who is partnered with Neil Jones on the show, can be seen in her kitchen with a saucepan on the stove, and a spice rack in the background in a glimpse from her popular Instagram account.

Nina lives at home in Staines-Upon-Thames in Surrey with husband, Raiomond Mirza and their two children, Tia Nia, 18, and Aidan, 14.

During lockdown, Nina filmed her own mini-series during from her own home.

She revealed that it became a creative outlet for her during this period. “I do short sketches on social media about a stressed mum, and it gave my teenagers free rein in the house to be mean to Mum for no apparent reason,” she revealed.

“The character literally came out of boredom and general frustration.”

Nina also started the sketches as she was keen to make people laugh during such a dark time.

“If I can cheer someone up for just 10 seconds in a day, I feel I am doing something positive,” she said.

“It was also a real bonding exercise for me with all my mum friends too, and it has been something we have laughed about together.”

As well as featuring her kitchen on Instagram, fans were also able to look at her living room, which features a large flat screen television.

Above the TV is a shelf with different ornaments placed on it. Nina’s hallway features a pretty chandelier in the centre of the ceiling and sparkly fairy lights placed around the door frames.

Nina has been married to her TV and film music composer husband Raiomond since 1998.

The couple met in Canada and wed after only knowing each other for a few months.

The actress who starred in EastEnders decided to leave the BBC show in 2013 as it was too much juggling it with bringing up a young family.

“In all honesty, I was missing my kids growing up a bit too because they were very little at the time and Eastenders is a lot of work,” she explained.

Nina also revealed that she believed she was turning into her character Zainab Masood. “Also, I was turning into my character, to which my husband amazingly said, ‘I don’t like the woman so can I have my wife back?’"
