A cheeky chap posted a snap of his meal made from freezer foods to prove British food wasn’t “bad”, but opinions were split with Europeans finding the meal disgusting.
Jokester u/Jalapeno-Head shared the photo on Reddit in the CasualUK forum and elicited strong reactions.
Over 47,000 people liked the post but some said the plate was “beige”, “orange” and full of sugar.
One commenter said: “Jamie Oliver is going to launch another campaign because of this picture.”
In the snap, was a plate stacked high with onion rings, potato smileys, chicken dippers, breaded fish, chicken nuggets, mozzarella sticks, turkey dinosaurs and potato waffles.
Would you eat this feast? Tell us in the comments…
Plus, two mini pizzas, a bowl of baked beans, a bowl of alphabet spaghetti, some skips, chocolate fingers, mini eggs, party rings and white chocolate buttons.
Oh, and four babybels…
We’d hope that the cook was serving his “freezer tapas” to multiple people, but can’t know for sure.
In the caption he said: “‘British cuisine is bad’ – oh yeah? Think again.”
And, thousands went off in the comments.
One jokester said: “Wow, that platter has, all combined, several nutritions!”
“It has all the shapes of a complete diet. There's animal, traditional, amorphous, and nondescript,” replied another.
A second said: “Freezer tapas has become a lockdown favourite in our house that is also a great way of getting through the many packs of smiley faces and waffles that seem to lurk in the dark recesses of the freezer.”
“In our local we call this the beige platter,” a third wrote. “It is highly revered”
“Yup… Get in my mouth,” a hungry lad said.
However, not everyone was so taken with the unhealthy platter.
One person wrote: “This is how you get, what I call, the play-doh poos.
“No body or form to the stools whatsoever.”
“Your mum's been to Iceland,” noted another.
“50 Shades of Beige,” laughed a third.
And, a comments war raged when one poster said: “No wonder Europeans mock our cuisine!”
And, sure enough… our European cousins weighed in on the matter.
One said: “Ima be honest: looks really nice, but as a German those beans still disturb me.”
“Confirmation from Italian guy, it’s bad,” added another.

A third raged: “Thought again. Still trash. British people eat like the world war one is still raging overhead.”
“Now I know where the US got it from,” noted another. “It all makes sense.”
"That looks f***ing terrible," another posted.
We’re not sure this plate really displays the best of British food.
We’d probably still eat it though… who doesn’t love a turkey dinosaur?
