Mum shares tips for feeding family of four for just £47 per month

A mum has shared how she manages to feed a family of four on just £47 a month.

The mum-of-two makes all meals and snacks for 30 days on the tiny budget.

She explained that both of her children have “different dietary needs” and that she and her husband eat differently too, reports The Sun.

Mary Bells posted a photograph of her meal prep in a popular money saving Facebook group.

She makes tasty, easy to cook meals despite her families complicated dining needs.

Mary continued: “When you have two kids with different dietary requirements, your on a diet and both you and your husband are off to uni/college next week, it’s time to batch cook the hell out of life!

“All made with bargain meat and veg brought from the bargain aisle so a grand total of £47 this will feed four of us for at least 30 days!

"That’s September sorted, sorry kitchen but I won’t be back for some time."

The mum shared a list of meals she had made to help out other parents.

Included on the list was chicken curry, lemon chicken, Bombay potatoes, lasagne, cottage pie, Thai red curry and kofta kebabs.

Plus, twelve portions of roasted veg, gluten free banana and chocolate cakes, Biscoff cheesecake, carrot cake, three soups, hummus and granola bars.

There were lots of other items too including three types of curry, two hot pots and pasta dishes.

Phew – that’s a lot of cooking!

Members of the group were impressed by Mary’s organisation.
