Rochelle Humes, is there anything this lady can’t do?
In between presenting This Morning with Co star Holly Willoughby, taking the beauty world by storm with her very own range ‘Little Coco,’ releasing a new cook book and looking after three gorgeous children with her boyband husband Marvin Humes, she is now giving us serious coat envy in her latest collaboration with Regatta .
We loved catching up with the busy 32-year-old to discuss what her new edit with the outdoors brand Regatta has to offer, plus who knew the glamorous ex-The Saturdays singer had such a love for puffa coats?
If that wasn’t enough to get you excited for the new season, the presenter reveals she has a new found love for the great outdoors after lockdown, and gives us the down low on the must have purchase she has already made in time for autumn’s arrival.
Check out her exciting new collaboration with Regatta and Rochelle’s top tips for the season ahead – they’ve certainly got you covered!
You follow in the footsteps of Alicia Dixon and Kimberley Walsh who have previously fronted the Regatta campaigns. How does it feel to be the new face of the A/W range?
"It’s great! Kimberley had actually sent me some coats before so I knew how lovely they were, but I suppose after lockdown we have all become walkers all of a sudden.
"I’ve gained this new love of the outdoors. Even if I have to end up carrying scooters on the way back which is normally how it goes."
After revealing that her favourite piece from the collection is the gold cropped puffa, the mum-of-three went on to say how: "I’ve tried to piece together a real mixture of coats for different ages".
Any advice for buying the perfect winter coat?
"Find your perfect fit. I do like an oversized jacket, but a coat has to fit well. When it comes to clothing people get scared about going up a size but I ignore the numbers.
"I think if it fits you that’s all people see, they don’t look at the labels to see what size you are wearing do they? It depends on your body shape too, or if you are pregnant for example. When I was pregnant and after baby everything was oversized, now I am going for more tailored styles.
"Oh and definitely try everything on- you’ll instantly know what suits you best".
Regatta is obviously known for their outdoor clothing. Do you appreciate spending time in the great outdoors a lot more now after lockdown?
"What’s funny is my husband would always find a reason not to walk anywhere, whereas I have always loved it. But where we have been doing it so much we have converted him into enjoying it! There is something to be said about being outdoors you feel better for it."
You make a puffa look so glam, how do you do it?
"I’m not sure actually (laughs). You can’t go wrong with a good coat and as long as it fits you properly- I think that’s all the glam you need."
As a mum of three how do you keep looking stylish come rain or shine?
"I mentioned the gold puffa before, well one of the other reasons I love it is that it’s wipe clean (laughs) which as a mum of three, this is very important nowadays.
"Practicality is key for me now. You can chuck on a nice jacket, coat, oversized blazer whatever it is to make yourself feel more pulled together even if you are just wearing plain black gym gear underneath."
Have you passed on your love of fashion to your daughters?
"Oh they both love it! They love getting ready for any occasion. It’s got to the point where we now have two full-on opinions about what they are wearing, so some days it’s challenging and hard to get out of the door, but I love that they are their own little people."
What are your key buys for autumn?
"1.) Straight leg jeans are really handy – I’m not a massive skinny jean person.
2.) A simple body
3.) Shirt -maybe to go over the body, you can recycle these basics in lots of different ways.
4.) A good belt to pull it all together.
5.) Obviously, a great coat- I do love a puffa I own quite a few. We are getting into coat season as much as we haven’t had an ideal summer. I said the other day if If this is going to be the weather then just give me a coat and I’ll put the Christmas tree up because I’m over this no man’s land.
6.) A winter boot – I like wearing stiletto heeled boots with dresses to make them feel less dainty."
