Phillip Schofield proved that he’s down with the kids by showing off a TikTok hack on Tuesday’s This Morning show.
The TV Presenter, 60, told co-star Holly Willoughby and Irish chef Clodagh McKenna that putting a slice of bread in your mouth, while chopping onions stops your eyes from watering.
Phillip revealed that he had picked up the trick from TikTok and was keen to showcase his new find during Clodagh’s cooking segment, showing how to make French Onion Soup for 85p a serving.
He said: ‘I mentioned earlier on that I saw TikTok and there was a way that you could cut onions without it making your eyes water.’

The presenter said that he didn’t know whether the trick worked and so challenged the team to have a go.
Picking up a quarter slice of sourdough Phillip explained that it wasn’t big enough and reached for a full slice, saying you need a ‘proper slice of bread.’
Sticking it in his mouth, he began to cut the onion, while Holly seemed somewhat unconvinced by the TikTok trick.
However, both Holly and Clodagh decided to give it a go and a muffled Phil seemed to say ‘my eyes aren’t watering.’
The TV presenter, 60, got Holly Willoughby and regular chef Clodagh McKenna involved in the TikTok life hack
All three pairs of eyes remained dry and Holly exclaimed: ‘I actually think that works quite well.’
Clodagh was particularly impressed and continued to exclaim that it was ‘brilliant.’
She said: ‘I’ve been a chef for over 20 years and I dread the onion job. Never heard of it.’
The trick has been shared on TikTok multiple times with users hailing it as a ‘life hack’ and ‘genius’ idea.

TikTokers say that chewing a piece of bread will help in eliminating tears while cutting an onion.
It has been speculated that is because sulphuric compounds are absorbed by the bread before they can reach your eyes.

The hosts of the popular ITV morning show are always prepared to discuss a wide range of topics and last week were left flabbergasted when they spoke with a woman who claimed she can make herself orgasm using just her mind.
The presenters desperately tried to contain their giggles as they learnt about the process, with Phillip very keen to learn how long it takes to achieve the mind power.
Karolin Tsarski, a tantric sex coach explained that she can ‘can go into orgasm and hold it’ for any length of time, prompting Phil to exclaim: ‘You make it sound like a shop!’
After being told that men can also learn the technique, Phillip quickly asked: ‘how long do you have to study for this?’ prompting the pair to collapse in giggles.
