Zendaya says the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown gave her a “taste of sadness”

“You wake up and you just feel bad all day, like what the f–k is going on?” the 25-year-old actress shared in the October 2021 issue of British Vogue.

For Zendaya, the sadness felt like a hovering “dark cloud” she didn’t know “how to get rid of.”

The Emmy winner also opened up about going to therapy, calling it a “beautiful thing.”

“I mean, if anybody is able to possess the financial means to go to therapy, I would recommend they do that,” she told the mag.

The “Dune” star added there was “nothing wrong” with “working on yourself and dealing with those things with someone who can help you, someone who can talk to you, who’s not your mom or whatever.”

In addition to therapy, Zendaya finds herself channeling her emotions into the drug-addicted teenager she plays on HBO’s “Euphoria.”

However, she also admitted to being “the most sober person you could ask to play this part,” so she only understands Rue’s troubled existence to “an extent.”

Despite the ongoing pandemic, it’s been a rather great year for Zendaya.

Not only did she recently celebrate her 25th birthday, but she finally took her romantic relationship with her “Spider-Man” co-star, Tom Holland, public.

“My MJ, have the happiest of birthdays. Gimme a call when your [sic] up xxx,” Holland captioned a cute selfie of the couple in honor of Zendaya’s birthday.
