GUNNERS ROUND UP
There's a hive of activity around the Emirates as Arsenal prepare to return to Premier League action against Man City this weekend.
The future of Mesut Ozil remains a big talking point and Mikel Arteta will not commit to saying whether he is in or out of the 25-man squad.
He said: “He wasn’t the only one that is not in the squad.
“It was a really difficult decision for me to make because to leave players out of the squad at that level where they know that they cannot get involved is really tough.
“I don’t like it at all but the decision has to be made because we have an excess on foreign players and unfortunately we have to make that decision.”
Arteta then spoke of William Saliba's future amid reports he could be sent out on loan to a Championship side.
Commenting on those reports, he simply stated he expected the Frenchman to remain at the Emirates.
Meanwhile, the gaffer has provided an update on whether Kieran Tierney can play against Man City on Saturday.
The player is currently self-isolating having been in close contact with Scottish international team-mate Stuart Armstrong, who has contracted coronavirus.
Arteta said: “This is getting very complicated when we are sending players abroad and obviously you lose control, some authorities have different regulations to the actual ones in the Premier League.
“We are still having some discussions with the authorities and hopefully we will know more this afternoon.”
And finally, Matteo Guendouzi has become the latest footballer to test positive for coronavirus.
After returning from international duty with France's Under-21 side, the Arsenal loanee was diagnosed with the illness.
However, the Bundesliga club state that Guendouzi, 21, is asymptomatic and doing well.
