Axed Soccer Saturday stars tipped to enter I'm A Celeb after Le Tissier, Thompson, Nicholas and Minto are all cut adrift

SOCCER SATURDAY'S sacked presenters could go from cheerio to eerie show – with a spot on 2020's "haunted" I'm a Celebrity.

Sky Sports stunned their popular programme's fans by axing former top-flight superstars Matt Le Tissier, Charlie Nicholas, Scott Minto and Phil Thompson.

Now ex-England winger Le Tissier, in particular, is being tipped for ITV's hit series, hosted by Ant 'n Dec.

The Southampton legend is rated 6/4 to appear in this year's special version – where he could practice some creepy-uppies in the "haunted" ruins of Gwrych Castle in Wales.

Former Arsenal maverick Charlie Nicholas is 3/1 and one-time Chelsea left-back Minto 6/1 – with even Liverpool hero Thompson given a ghost of a chance at 10/1.

Sky Sports praised the "great job" done by the long-serving pundits but revealed their football punditry is having what could become a major revamp.

A spokesman told SunSport: “We are changing some parts of our football coverage."

And 24 hours later Jessica O'Reilly from bookies' Ladbrokes said: "The sacked Sky Sports pundits are clearly going to have a lot of time on their hands, which pushes the I'm A Celebrity doors wide open now."

"There's always one camp-mate with a link to football, and if Thommo, Charlie, Tiss or Minto spill the beans on their dismissal, it ought to make for great viewing."

Former Spurs and West Ham manager Harry Redknapp won I'm a Celeb in 2018.

But that was in its traditional Australian jungle venue, complete with bushtucker trials and hidden horrors for pampered personalities.

So it would be a whole different ball game seeing if Le Tissier and Co could go from TV hosts to avoiding ghosts in 2020's spooky setting.
