Cristiano Ronaldo offered to a THIRD club rival as Jorge Mendes gives Napoli chance to sign Utd star in shock transfer | The Sun

NAPOLI have reportedly been offered the chance to snap up Cristiano Ronaldo by the Manchester United striker's agent Jorge Mendes.

The 37-year-old has reiterated his desire to depart Old Trafford this summer when he met with Red Devils chiefs at Carrington this week.

Such is his desire to play Champions League football, the Portugal international wants his £360,000-a-week contract ripped up so he can leave on a free transfer.

But United are reluctant to cash in on the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who has just one year left on his contract.

However it has been said that United would be prepared to loan out the Real Madrid legend, but only if he pens a new deal first.

A host of clubs have been credited with an interest in Ronaldo this window, including United's Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Meanwhile Atletico Madrid – rivals of his former employers Real – are believed to be keen on securing his services.

But the club's supporters have released a statement rejecting the potential transfer.

Bayern Munich have also weighed up a move for the player, but they have decided against bringing him to the Allianz Arena.

And now Napoli are believed to have been offered the chance to sign Ronaldo, despite his three-year stint with rivals Juventus.
