Grand National 2022: Chance to win £5,000 at Aintree without even backing horse on Ladies Day

GRAND National racegoers will get the chance to walk away £5,000 better off this week – without having to bet on a horse!

That is because the Style Awards are back on Friday, otherwise known as Ladies Day.

Dubbed 'the most fashionable event of the year', punters in their finest get up will be able to compete for a big cash prize.

A team of top judges will sift through photos of elegant racegoers.

And it could not be easier to enter.

The Jockey Club website says all women need to do is be photographed by their official team and enter details into a competition form.

The Style Awards are open from when the gates open to 2pm and winners will be announced at 3.45pm on Friday.

First prize is a whopping £5,000 in cash plus a £500 Never Fully Dressed voucher.

The Grand National Festival gets underway on Thursday this week, with the big race going off at 5.15pm on Saturday.

Two Irish runners in the shape of Delta Work and Any Second Now are vying for favouritism at the top of the market at around 8-1.

Gordon Elliott's Delta Work comes in as the ultimate party pooper, his victory in the Cross Country at last month's Cheltenham Festival costing Tiger Roll victory in his final ever race.

Tiger Roll, a two-time winner of the National, will again not run this year owing to an argument over how much weight he will carry.

Britain's best hope looks to come in the shape of remarkable mare Snow Leopardess.

A grey and mother who recovered from a serious leg injury to race again, Charlie Longsdon's ten-year-old is three from three this season and looks to relish any race at and over the three-mile mark.
