Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr LIVE RESULTS: Legends DRAW after eight rounds and vow to fight AGAIN – reaction – The Sun

MIKE TYSON and Roy Jones Jr have played out an eight-round DRAW in their veteran exhibition match.

The pair showed their age but also fared admirably in Los Angeles' Staples Center as judges scored them to a tie, before they vowed to step into the ring AGAIN.

    Tyson adds: “I'm used to doing it for three minutes, sometimes like two minutes or three minutes.

    “I hope to go further, absolutely, and he can be on the car as well

    “I was very happy to be here, despite what everyone says I was happy to go to eight rounds.

    “Nobody thought I could go eight rounds, but you've got to go the distance, that's boxing.”

    Jones is advised to throw a straight left hand out of a southpaw stance.

    There's another clinch and then Jones lands a quick combination of three punches.

    Tyson barrells at Jones and pins him in a corner but nothing comes of it.

    Jones tries a left to the body and a stiff jab but neither make a dent.

    Both men at least end the session swinging but there's been a tragic lack of skill or power on show.

    Jones is bresthing hard but tells the referee he is coping just fine.

    The ref tells them both to liven up.

    It's all holding and wrestling.

    Nothing happening in the pocket.

    Tyson throws a jab and two hooks to Jones' body but they have no effect.

    Jones is always holding and spoiling.

    This is not an exhibition of a couple of veterans' skills.

    It's a bit of a washout.

    The ref warns Jones he could stop it over the holding.

    Jones' corner tell him to jab and feint more.

    Tyson tries to fight as soon as the bell goes but it ends in a cuddle.

    Jones gets on his jab and ties Tyson up again on the ropes.

    The ref tells the old boys to work out of the clinch.

    Jones is tying Tyson up a lot.

    The third is sloppy and short of action.

    Jr is trying to sap Tyson's early energy.

    Bell ends the worst round so far.

    No clean punchs in the first minute.

    There's a clash of heads but no cut on either shaved head.

    The bell ends the second session and Tyson's corner tell him he won the stanza and can throw missiles in the third.

    Mike whacks with two left hooks to head and body but both are blocked.

    Jones loops in a left left hook that doesn't harm Tyson.

    Jones is happy to skim around the edge of the ring.

    Tyson is gasping for air already.

    Lots of holding in that opener.

    Tyson failed to connect and Jones played with his food.
