Paige Spiranac makes huge mistake with suggestive hotdog tweet but laughs off Twitter trolls

GOLFING star Paige Spiranac had her fans in stitches after a tweet about enjoying a mid-round hotdog went viral.

The former golf pro, 29, is now a social media superstar and boasts a whopping 3.3m followers on Instagram.

But it was on Twitter where she made a splash on Thursday night, revealing she likes the sausage snack when turning onto the back-nine.

She wrote: "There is nothing better than a hotdog at the turn on the golf course."

Fans were quick to jump on the suggestive nature of the tweet, with Paige insisting it wasn't intended in that way.

One user responded: "The comments are probably going to be out of control here…"

But Paige responded quickly to the initial tweet, which garnered over 9,000 likes in three hours and saw a number of NSFW replies.

She wrote "Me reading my comments after saying I enjoy a nice hotdog at the turn", accompanied by a hilarious meme of Lin-Manuel Miranda in the musical Hamilton.

Paige is currently in the Bahamas and hit the course earlier this week, though admitted on May 3 that she's suffering from a bad case of the yips.

Spiranac wrote: "l'll be honest, my game is really struggling right now.

"Today I got the yips off the tee which was the first time that’s happened since playing pro.

"I was pretty discouraged and have been down on myself about my golf game.

"I know we can all feel this way sometimes so I want to take you along with me as I work on my game.. A support group for bad golf lol."

Paige's frustrations on the course were evident on Monday as she revealed she'd tossed her driver 'into the s***'.

She told her Twitter followers: "Today I threw my driver 40 yards in the air. Hit a cart path and bounced into the s***.

"Not one scratch on the clubhead. That TM Stealth driver is indestructible. Pretty impressive."

But she appeared to have no such problems hitting off the tee in a recent simulator video, crashing a drive 259 yards.

And Paige demonstrated her NFL Combine skills ahead of the draft in Las Vegas, showing off her speed and athleticism.
