ROYAL Ascot 2019 is the most prestigious horse racing events of the year — and it begins today.

Each year for more than 100 years, high-up members of the Royal Family including the Queen attend.

When does Royal Ascot 2019 start?

Royal Ascot begins in the third week of June every year.

This year it starts TODAY – Tuesday, June 18 and ends on Saturday, June 22.

Can you still get tickets to Royal Ascot 2019?

Yes they are still on sale for Royal Ascot 2019, with ticket prices from £37.

You can buy tickets for all of the days from the racecourses website.

But a word of warning,  if you want to get your hands on some you’d better get a move on.

The Windsor Enclosure and Village Enclosure tickets for Saturday, the closing day, have sold out.

Only the £90 tickets for the Queen Anne Enclosure are left.

Will Meghan Markle be at Royal Ascot this year?

Meghan Markle is still on maternity leave from royal duties after giving birth to her and Prince Harry’s first child Archie in May.

Her first public appearance since then was during Trooping the Colour when she accompanied Prince Harry to the event.

Currently, the royals have not confirmed the Royal Ascot as a future engagement for any of the royals.
