Toni Kroos claims he 'wouldn't be surprised' if Kylian Mbappe sealed shock Real Madrid transfer from PSG

TONI KROOS 'wouldn't be surprised' if Real Madrid sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The Frenchman has long been linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu.

Club president Florentino Perez is obsessed with recruiting the 22-year-old.

PSG however have been bullish about keeping their young star.

But with under a year left on his contract, and the imminent arrival of Lionel Messi about to significantly inflate their wage bill – PSG could come under pressure to sell Mbappe before the end of the month.

And Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos wouldn't be at all surprised.

He told Bild: "I prefer to talk about signings that have already been completed.

"But since Real always want the best, I would not be surprised."

Mbappe is believed to earn around £375,000-a-week at Parc des Princes.

To be able to afford him, Madrid may need to flog players of their own.

This could open the door to Arsenal re-signing Martin Odegaard – with the Norwegian still a key target.

Carlo Ancelotti's side have had a stuttering pre-season, losing 2-1 to Rangers last month before drawing 0-0 with AC Milan yesterday.

Gareth Bale made his return to action against the Italian giants, wearing the No50, but missed a penalty that could have won the game for his side.

Mbappe, meanwhile, made his first appearance of the season on Saturday – helping PSG to a Ligue 1 opening day 2-1 victory over Troyes.
