  • WHATSAPPENING

Jadon Sancho has reportedly joined a Manchester United WhatsApp group – but is still waiting for his transfer paperwork to be delivered.

Speaking on The Transfer Window Podcast, transfer expert Ian McGarry said: “Manchester United are comfortable at this moment in time that they're not in any competition for the signature of Jadon Sancho.

“Manchester United are comfortable at this moment in time that they're not in any competition for the signature of Jadon Sancho.

“They don't believe they're going to be gazumped by no other club because no other club has expressed the same level of interest.

“They're also very confident the player wants to come to Old Trafford.

“He has been in constant touch with England international colleagues who currently play for Manchester United and indeed in daily contact with them.

“It's even believed he's on a WhatsApp group with some of the Manchester United players as well.

“Therefore United are very comfortable with their position, they believe that Dortmund will come round to the structure that they've suggested.”

  • WILL POWER

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has hailed the potential signing of Willian as he revealed his shock that Chelsea are prepared to let him leave.

Writing in his column for the Daily Star, he said: “Willian would be an unbelievable signing for Arsenal. I think Willian is a special player who ticks all the boxes. I can't believe Chelsea are letting him go to be honest.

“I know he's 31 and wanted a three-year contract but football is all about now, and right now he's a great player.

“No manager is thinking about what might happen in three or four years' time.

“They need results now, so it's no surprise to me Frank Lampard doesn't want him to go. Arteta won't be Arsenal manager forever. He needs to win now. Willian can help him do that.”

  • LONDON CALLING

Ainsley Maitland-Niles is likely to stay in London after being put up for sale by Arsenal – and could even make a switch to local rivals Tottenham.

Within days after being put on the market, every club in London except Chelsea have made their interest known that they could be keen to give him a new home.

That includes Spurs, where boss Jose Mourinho is having to be creative with his own rebuilding plans this summer.

Arsenal were hoping to get as much as £30million for the versatile England under-21 international who was part of the starting line-up at Wembley ahead of the highly-rated Bukayo Saka..

But in reality they may have to settle for around £20m with clubs across the Premier League all feeling the pinch following the coronavirus pandemic.

West Ham, Crystal Palace and newly-promoted Fulham have all shown interest knowing Arsenal boss Arteta would have liked to have kept him at the Emirates but for the need to generate funds.

  • MAUR WOE

    It has now been confirmed!

Maurizio Sarri has been relieved of his duties at Juventus.

A statement on the club's website said: “Juventus Football Club announces that Maurizio Sarri has been relieved of his post as coach of the First Team.

“The club would like to thank the coach for having written a new page in Juventus' history with the victory of the ninth-consecutive championship, the culmination of a personal journey that led him to climb all the divisions of Italian football.”

  • SARRI STATE

Former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has reportedly been sacked by Juventus.

Sky Sport Italia journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed an official announcement will be made soon.

The decision comes after the Old Lady crashed out in the Champions League quarter-finals after the defeat against Lyon.

Sarri guided Juve to the Serie A title this season.

  • LEW BEAUTY

Leeds are considering trying to bring former star Lewis Cook back from Bournemouth.

Marcelo Bielsa knows he needs to add to the depth of his options at Elland Road following promotion – and Cook's experience at the top level could be valuable.

The Cherries need to massively reduce their wage bill while still keeping a squad strong enough to challenge for promotion from the Championship next season.

But they could be open to doing a deal for Cook, 23, who left Leeds four years ago having come through the academy system at the club.

  • DOR AJAR

Jadon Sancho will cash in regardless of whether his Manchester United transfer goes through – with Borussia Dortmund ready to soften the blow with a mega-money new deal.

The Germans are ready to hand him a new £173,000-a-week contract if United do not complete their pursuit of him by Monday.

That was the deadline Dortmund gave Old Trafford chiefs.

They want the cash to make further signings ahead of their 2020/21 Bundesliga campaign.

United are ready to hand Sancho a five-year £350,000-a-week deal.

They have reportedly agreed to pay Dortmund £60m up front, with a further £48m in add-ons for the 20-year-old England international.

  • COUT ME IN

Philippe Coutinho reportedly visited Arsenal's training ground yesterday despite being pictured preparing for Bayern Munich's Champions League clash against Chelsea.

According to Sport, the Brazilian was at London Colney as he looks to join the Gunners after his loan spell with Bayern comes to an end.

They state that the playmaker is keen to join the Gunners as he pushes for a move back to the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta is believed to be a huge fan of the player, with the Spaniard desperate to sign an attacking midfielder this summer.

  • BLUES BLOW

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has claimed that the Blaugrana are working to give Chelsea target Marc-Andre ter Stegen a new contract.

Speaking to beIN SPORTS, he said: “With the current situation, we've asked to speak more calmly about it.

“But regardless, his future remains at Barca.

“When the COVID-19 situation is over, we'll speak with him about a new contract.”

  • S-MART MOVE

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has revealed that the club are still looking to bring Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez to the Nou Camp.

Speaking to beIN SPORTS, he said: “The move is completely on hold.

“When the Champions League is over, we'll speak with Inter.

“Right now we're more focused on the games coming up.”

  • BIG MIL

Alexis Sanchez took a dig at Manchester United after completing his move to Inter Milan.

The 31-year-old striker, said to have got a £9m pay-off to get his £505,000-a-week wages off the books, suggested his new club had more desire to win something big.

The Chilean striker, who spent this season on loan at the Serie A club, took to social media to aim a parting shot at United.

He said: “I'm really happy to be staying here with you, Inter fans. I’ve found a family here and the staff are great.

“It's a group where there's a real desire to win something big.

“People here want to fight together as a team to give the club the success it deserves.”

  • HARRY UP

Premier League new-boys Leeds United will scrap it out with Newcastle to get Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson on loan.

It is not thought that the Reds want to sell the 23-year-old Welshman.

But they will send him for another season of Prem experience after he was generally a success despite relegation for Bournemouth.

Liverpool chiefs will look for a big loan payment to take Wilson.

He is not yet ready to become part of the Premier League champions' first-team plans.

The Northern Echo claim Toon want him for the season.

But Leeds are ready to battle it out as they look for some top talent to make an impact next term.

  • PRICE IS RICE

Chelsea plan to sell some of their stars to raise £65million and land West Ham's Declan Rice.

The Blues let the defensive midfielder go for free as a kid – but boss Frank Lampard has made the England starlet his top priority this summer.

Lamps' more straightforward idea is to flog midfielder Jorginho.

The likes of Juventus and Inter Milan are likely to pay £40m for the defensive midfielder, who is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

Former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri would like to bring the 29-year-old to the Serie A champions, says the Telegraph.

That would go most of the way to getting the cash for 21-year-old Rice.

  • HIGH FIVE FOR DEANO

Dean Henderson is set to improve his pay packed FIVE fold after being offered a £60,000-a-week deal at Manchester United.

According to the Transfer Window Podcast, the 23-year-old has had improved terms put under his nose in a bid to fend off interest from elsewhere.

Chelsea are among the clubs who have shown interest in the Englishman, who wants to get a regular run in the first team and secure a place in Gareth Southgate's squad for Euro 2020, after the tournament was postponed by a year.

Henderson has been in superb form, especially last season at Sheffield United.

And while the Blades are keen to take him on loan for another season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could decide to send him elsewhere to improve his experience and put off a difficult decision over David De Gea by another season.

  • GOOD MORNING, FOOTBALL FANS,

SunSport's Mark Irwin revealed that Arsenal are set to spend £100million this summer to sign key targets Thomas Partey, Gabriel Magalhaes and Dani Ceballos.

But they will need to sell at least three of their current squad and offload a couple more to fund the spending spree.

That means Lucas Torreira, Ainsley Maitland-Niles,  Matteo Guendouzi and Shkodran Mustafi could all be joining Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mohamed Elneny at the departure gate.

With the free-transfer signing of Chelsea winger Willian almost in the bag, Mikel Arteta is now turning his attention to strengthening his midfield and defence.

Atletico Madrid’s Ghana star Partey has been top of Arsenal’s shopping list for months and is keen to move to the Premier League after nine years in the Spanish capital.

The central midfielder, 27, has a £45m release clause in his contract and Atletico are adamant that Arsenal will have to pay the full asking price to get their man.

Arteta is also keen on Lille’s Brazilian centre-half Gabriel, who was targeted by former boss Unai Emery last season before the club signed William Saliba.

Meanwhile, SunSport's Duncan Wright claims that Crystal Palace are set to miss out on QPR’s Eberechi Eze after refusing to budge on their £10million evaluation.

Palace have seen a first bid for the highly-rated playmaker thrown back in their faces after they offered £8m with a series of bonus payments which will be tough to meet.

The total package QPR rejected was worth £12m, but that was with a number of performance related top ups such as the team qualifying for Europe.

The Championship club thought many of the add-ons were unrealistic and have asked Palace to come back with a serious offer, valuing their star player at £20m.

  • WILL TO WIN

Paul Merson has enthusiastically backed Arsenal's attempts to prize Willian from Chelsea.

The Gunners legend, who is often seen as hard to please, claims the Brazilian would be an “unbelievable” signing.

He told the Daily Star: “I think Willian is a special player who ticks all the boxes. I can’t believe Chelsea are letting him go to be honest.

“I know he’s 31 and wanted a three-year contract but football is all about now, and right now he’s a great player.

“No manager is thinking about what might happen in three or four years time. They need results now, so it’s no surprise to me Frank Lampard doesn’t want him to go.

“Arteta won’t be Arsenal manager forever. He needs to win now. Willian can help him do that.”

  • NOU GAR?

Barcelona will test the water with a £14million bid for Manchester City starlet Eric Garcia.

Pep Guardiola revealed on Thursday the defender, 19, is refusing to pena new Etihad contract.

As Garcia has just a year left on his current one, City have a big call over whether to cash in on him now.

Etihad chiefs willwant at least £20mup front, with afurther £10m in add-ons, to consider selling him.

Otherwise they are happy to let himsee out the final 12 months before going for nothing.

But it is Barca’s interest which is believed to have unsettled Garcia, who had been expected to commit his long-term future to City.

  • NOT SO EZE

SunSport's Duncan Wright claims that Crystal Palace are set to miss out on QPR’s Eberechi Eze after refusing to budge on their £10million evaluation.

Palace have seen a first bid for the highly-rated playmaker thrown back in their faces after they offered £8m with a series of bonus payments which will be tough to meet.

The Championship club thought many of the add-ons were unrealistic and have asked Palace to come back with a serious offer, valuing their star player at £20m.

  • SPREE FOR THREE

SunSport's Mark Irwin revealed that Arsenal are set to spend £100million this summer to sign key targets Thomas Partey, Gabriel Magalhaes and Dani Ceballos.

But they will need to sell at least three of their current squad and offload a couple more to fund the spending spree.

  • FER-GET IT

Rio Ferdinand has urged Gareth Bale to leave Real Madrid, so that fans can witness his “generational talent” again.

The BT Sport pundit said: “If you look at it in terms of trophies, he's won a phenomenal amount of trophies and will go down as as one of the most successful imports they've had.

“But there's no doubt one thing that's happening, we're being denied a generational talent here. We want him out on the pitch to perform and play.

“We've seen what he can do in finals, and in big moments he's scored great goals. Defining moments in big games, but we're not being allowed to see him play, and that's the frustrating thing.

“You almost want him to come out and say it. You're begging for him or the club to come out and make a big statement.

“He's got to just come out and make his point.

“I think its time now, really. Either cut your ties with Real Madrid or at least go on loan.

“Make a deal happen somewhere to get out on the pitch and play football.”

  • QAT OUT THE BAG

Arsenal hero Santi Cazorla has arrived at Al-Sadd, after extending his playing career by signing for the Qatari champions.

In making the switch, Cazorla has reunited with former Spain team-mate Xavi, who manages the Doha side.

Alongside each other as players, the pair tasted World Cup and European Championships glory with La Roja.

And Cazorla, 35, will be hoping to add a few final medals to his impressive collection before eventually calling time on his playing career.

He told the club's official website upon arrival: “It's a great honour to be with the biggest club in Qatar.

“Xavi helped me a lot in my decision to come to Qatar.

“He was a role model for me when I was a player and he is sure to set an example to me as a coach.

“My goal is to win everything with Al-Sadd, you have to strive to win everything.

“I want to thank everyone for their encouragement and continued support to the team and I will strive to help the team every day to reap the victories.”

  • MOUR TO SEE

Talks between between Tottenham and Inter Milan have reportedly intensified over a deal for Milan Skrinar.

The 25-year-old has been linked to several clubs this summer after falling out of favour with Antonio Conte.

Tuttosport, via Sport Witness, claim Skrinar ‘could be sacrificed’ if Inter got a player in return amid interest in Tanguy Ndombele.

  • WILL HE OR WON'T HE?

Frank Lampard has given an update on Willian's contract situation.

He said: “Read a headline that mentioned disappointment. That doesn't matter. Willian remains our player at the moment, he is injured.

“He'd have given everything to play. He's carried this injury… as a club we've done everything we can to explain to Willian.

“Our relationship is really close but no disappointment if he moves on. A fantastic man and fantastic player. The club have acted very well in this. If he moves on I'll wish him well.”

  • DEVIL MAY CARE

Jadon Sancho is aalready part of a WhatsApp group with Manchester United players.

Transfer expert Ian McGarry said on the transfer window podcast: “Manchester United are comfortable at this moment in time that they're not in any competition for the signature of Jadon Sancho.

“They don't believe they're going to be gazumped by no other club because no other club has expressed the same level of interest.

  • LYON IN WAIT

Arsenal and Manchester City are reportedly embroiled in a transfer tussle for in-demand Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.

The 21-year-old is seen as one of the hottest talents in Europe following his scintillating form in Ligue 1.

The France Under-21 international has been scouted by all the Premier League's elite, along with Real Madrid and Juventus.

City boss Pep Guardiola is said to be a long-standing admirer of the whizkid.

After facing Lyon last season he singled the French starlet out for praise and waited in the tunnel to speak to him personally.

Lyon are hoping to get about £54m for Aouar with Juventus also interested, according to French outlet L'Equipe.
