AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington were put under the microscope on Saturday night’s episode of Strictly Come Dancing. Fans have been keeping a close eye on the dance duo with many speculating about the closeness of their relationship. Before AJ took to the dance floor for Halloween Week, she was grilled by her nieces and nephews about her time in the competition so far. However, she got a shock when one of her nephews asked a question on many viewers’ minds.
Taking a break from their dance rehearsals, AJ sat down for a chat with some of the children in her family.
Keen to know about her time in the BBC dance competition, AJ’s niece Marta asked: “Are you enjoying being on Strictly?”
“I’m really loving it. I like learning new dances, I like all the costumes, and I really like Kai,” AJ confessed.
This caused one of AJ’s nephew’s to pipe up, asking: “Why don’t you just kiss him?”
Dance partners Kai and AJ instantly burst out laughing at the suggestion.
After performing their dance, host Claudia Winkleman quizzed the pair further about their relationship.
The presenter said: “I would like to say on behalf of your nephew, who we all fell in love with, if you wanted to kiss at any point now… come on Kai!
“Kai, it’s the right time,” Claudia insisted, egging the dancer on.
“I know it is, I know. We’ll do it after the scores,” Kai replied.
“Goodness me you tease!” Claudia exclaimed, with AJ remarking: “How exciting.”
After the pair judges revealed their scores, Kai and AJ realised they’d received their highest total ever with a score of 37.
Delighted with the result, Kai gave AJ a kiss on the hand.
As the competition heats up, Strictly fans have been busy speculating who may win the series.
It looks as though EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis is the current favourite to lift the Glitterball Trophy.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes currently have the soap star with odds of 4/7 to win Strictly this year.
Ladbrokes spokesperson Alex Apati said: “Rose’s performances have gone from strength to strength and it’s hardly been a surprise up to this point to see her so far ahead in the betting to win this year’s Glitterball Trophy.”
Meanwhile, TV chef John Whaite is another popular contestant with odds of 4/1 to be crowned Strictly Champion.
