Dan Walker was cheekily replaced live on air during the latest edition of BBC Breakfast.
The 45-year-old presenter announced on Monday (April 4) that he's quit the show after six years to join Channel 5 News.
He was back on our screens on Wednesday morning (April 6) to wake up the nation alongside Sally Nugent.
The pair spoke to cyclist Bradley Wiggins about his latest cycling challenge.
He's getting back on his bike to raise awareness for men's mental health.
However, things took a bizarre turn and Bradley ended up taking over Dan during the interview.
Bradley asked Dan: "When are you leaving?"
Dan replied: "In a few weeks time."
Sally pointed out: "There's a vacancy. I think you'll be perfect."
Dan then offered to swap seats with Bradley and the sportsman jumped into to present the show.
Sally said: "Let's see how we look together."
Dan continued the interview in the new seating arrangement and Sally let Bradley read the link the autocue.
A giggling Dan went on to tell Bradley: "You've got the job."
Former Strictly Come Dancing star Dan will replace Sian Williams as the Channel 5 News anchor, who recently announced she was leaving.
She also made the move across from the BBC Breakfast sofa to Channel 5 in 2016. Walker began working on BBC Breakfast the same year.
Dan replaced Bill Turnbull and shared the sofa with Louise Minchin until her departure in September 2021, who was replaced by Sally.
In a video shared on Twitter on Monday, he said it was a "massive decision" to leave the BBC but said: "I don't think opportunities like this come around very often."
He added: "I'm really excited but this has also been a massive decision for me because I love BBC Breakfast, I love working alongside Sally and I love the team there.

"But Channel 5 came with big ambitions, with big plans and I don't think opportunities like this come around very often and I can't wait.
"And what an honour to step into the shoes of Sian Williams.
"I know how popular she is with both the team and also the audience, so all I can say is I will do my best to maintain her incredibly high standards.
"Thank you for watching and I'll see you soon on a TV screen somewhere."
