THE BBC has had a huge schedule shake-up as Doctors was cancelled last minute – with a whopping 11 episodes scrapped.
The BBC medical drama usually airs at 1.45pm on weekdays on BBC One.
But yesterdays episode was cancelled last minute following the devastating earthquake in Syria and Turkey which left many dead.
The decision to cancel the episode was made because it was set to feature a huge explosion.
The Doctors official Twitter account read: "In light of news in Turkey and Syria, today’s billed episode of Doctors will be replaced with Animal Park Heroes."
Wednesdays episode was number 18 in series 24, and while the show returned today, the episode which aired is number 29.

That means a whopping 11 episodes have been scrapped, all of which must relate to the explosion storyline.
However, some Doctors fans were not impressed by the move, with one writing on Twitter: "Idiotic Crass Stupid Ignorant Decision.
"Your Audience are not Children. You could have just put out a warning beforehand about the Explosion episodes.
"We are capable of making our own minds up whether to watch or not! Skipping 2 weeks ahead..utterly mad!"

Another added: "Could you please show the missing ones on iPlayer? Viewers should be mature enough to decide for themselves."
A third tweeted: "Don't understand the logic behind not showing yesterday's episode. There's a war in Ukraine that's been going on for a year but that wasn't as part of the consideration."
Meanwhile a fourth agreed, writing: "Agree with the concensus that the "missing" episodes should be on iPlayer – viewers can then make their own minds up instead of having censorship imposed on them."
Doctors airs weekdays at 1.45pm on BBC One.
