Last year, Ben Shephard was left in agony following a horror football injury that required surgery. The Good Morning Britain presenter kept fans updated during his hospital stay by sharing pictures on his Instagram page. Ben, who had to wear a brace to support his leg, opened up about his injury in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk.
At the Pride of Britain Awards 2022, Ben was asked about his painful leg injury.
The GMB presenter revealed: “My leg is alright, it’s 80 percent.”
“Not up to Strictly that’s for sure,” he joked.
The Tipping Point host went on to discuss this year’s Strictly Come Dancing cohort.

“I’ve been watching lots of it,” Ben said. “Helen Skelton’s a really good friend I would love to see Helen keep going because I think she’s doing amazingly.”
Tony Adams became the latest celebrity to exit the competition after suffering an injury during last Saturday’s live show.
Before he was forced to withdraw, Ben praised Tony’s performances and revealed he was proud to see how well he was doing in the competition.
“I’m a big fan of Tony Adams, I played football with him as well so seeing him go week on week it’s a moment I cherish every Saturday,” he added.
Meanwhile, Ben opened up on one of Kate Garraway’s habits that “upsets” him.
The pair present GMB together on Fridays while Ben hosts the show on Thursdays with Susanna Reid.
Ben was asked what he and Kate get up to during GMB’s ad breaks.
The Tipping Point host began: “Mostly with me and Kate, it’s me trying to tidy the desk, me trying to move stuff to try and pick up the rubbish that she’s thrown on the floor.

“Kate will be trying to order some Marmite on toast just because she knows it really upsets me.”
“It smells so bad and I hate Marmite, she loves Marmite,” he added.
“So that’s mostly what we do, we have a few minutes. It’s amazing how quickly it goes.”
More than 150 stars came together to celebrate the nation’s unsung heroes at last month’s Pride of Britain Awards.
GMB stars presented the GMB Young Fundraiser of the Year award to schoolboy Tobias Weller who lives with autism and cerebral palsy but this hasn’t stopped him from taking on gruelling challenges to raise money for people with disabilities.
The schoolboy has completed two marathons, an Iron Man and a sponsored walk and has raised more than £158,000 for good causes including his school and Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
Good Morning Britain airs on ITV on weekdays at 6am.
