Brit Awards host Jack Whitehall is looking for love with celeb dating app Raya – The Sun

THE BIGGEST names in music will descend on London’s O2 Arena tomorrow night in the hope of winning big at the Brit Awards — but singleton host Jack Whitehall wants to get lucky in another way.

The actor and comedian has signed back up to celebrity dating app Raya, meaning he will be able to search out eligible bachelorettes who are also at the ceremony.

Those on the exclusive app have to be referred by an existing member then face a panel which decides whether they are important enough to be part of it.

When up and running, as well as showing users a selection of people around the world who they can swipe left or right to, the app also has a map function — so Jack will be able to locate which other famous singles are nearby.

I have to say I’m surprised he has turned to technology to find love because he seems to have had no problem in attracting stunning women in the past.

He dated Crazy Rich Asians actress Gemma Chan for six years before their split in 2017 and has since been linked to British actress Kate Beckinsale and US socialite Paris Hilton.

There will be plenty of single women at tonight’s ceremony, with Mabel, Louise Redknapp, Lizzo and Billie Eilish all on the guest list. But Jack will have competition from the man who could be the night’s biggest winner — Lewis Capaldi.

I told in November how the singer — up for four awards including Best Male, Song Of The Year and Album Of The Year — was also using the app to find a partner.

And after heartbreak inspired his breakout tune Someone You Loved, the most played song on Apple Music last year, he could do with another romance to inspire his next album.

With a whole load of after-parties on the cards later, they will have plenty of opportun- ities to meet potential suitors . . .

BIFFY CLYRO have released a 30-second teaser hinting they are due to drop their first album since 2016. In the quirky clip captioned #thisisthesoundthatwemake” the trio paint a blue line across glass to obscure their faces.

And the winner of the best new-coner is…

THE biggest night in music is going green, with a charity being brought in to help minimize the ecological impact of the ceremony.

I’ve learned that the organisers are planning to melt down all the event’s signage at the O2 Arena afterwards to turn it into road cones and traffic barriers. The idea has come from environmental sustainability charity Julie’s Bicycle, which is also enforcing the use of reusable cups.

Many of the props used for the staging will also be recycled, while the food served to guests has all been locally sourced.

But one thing I’m pleased about is that there will at least be an option when it comes to sitting down for some grub, after the Golden Globes enforced a vegan meal on its guests.

Meat eaters will be treated to a main of coq au vin, while a beetroot and chickpea wellington is on offer as a plant-based alternative. I’m feeling hungry already.

VIP Brits guests will get a goodie bag worth more than £3,000 that includes top-of-the range electronics, a stay for two at the Cliveden House Hotel and a £1,000 facial with celebrity beauty expert Debbie Thomas.

Stormzy warning

STORMZY will give the biggest Brits performance with 200 backing dancers and vocalists joining him for the show-stopping highlight.

I’m told the grime star will perform more than one song in a set which could rival rapper Kanye West's epic spectacle in 2015. He will also be switching stages.

My insider said: “At the start Stormzy will be on the smaller stage with a choir. But when the songs start to kick in he’ll head to the main stage and be joined by hundreds of dancers.”

DISNEY is developing a live action version of fairytale Rapunzel after their animated adaptation Tangled in 2010. That film took £455million. It is not yet clear if the new movie will be based on that film or be a different version.

Lily: Folk just bore me without booze

FOR years she has been known for her hard partying but now Lily Allen has revealed the real reason she drank and took drugs – we were all too boring for her.

The singer is nowadays sober but claimed that without a drink inside her she can’t deal with engaging in conversation with people.

Lily, who is dating actor David Harbour – Jim Hopper in Stranger Things – said about partying without booze: “I don’t think I have fear around it, I just think I get bored by people.

“I went out to a party last weekend with my boyfriend and I was just like, ‘People are so full of s**t’. I can’t handle it. I think that was a lot of the reason I used to drink and take drugs so much – it was the only way I could engage in conversation.”

But it doesn’t seem as though Lily, who is currently working on a new album, is too concerned about not being able to go out on the lash any more.

She said: “This album I’ve been doing, I’ve been writing for just over a year, but I feel like I’ve moved on mentally so far from that time. I don’t drink any more and a lot of the songs I write have got references to drinking and raving and partying.

“There’s just the odd mention of it, and mainly when I’m talking about my sadness, that I would turn to alcohol, turn to drugs, like smoking weed or whatever. But that’s not me any more.”

KANYE WEST treated wife Kim Kardashian to a holiday to Mexico as a surprise for Valentine’s Day, staying in a luxury resort with an infinity pool. That puts the run-of-the-mill flowers I bought my wife to shame. Sorry!

Tom's night, win or snooze

IF you see a red-eyed Tom Walker  early tomorrow morning it’s probably because he’s pulled an all-nighter at the Brit Awards.

The Leave A Light On singer will be at tonight’s big do as he he’s been nominated for Song Of The Year with Just You And I, having won the Breakthrough Act in 2019.

But he’s got an early start with an 8am interview on Radio 1 tomorrow – and doesn’t want to make the same mistake as last year.

In an exclusive chat, he said: “I’ve not decided if I’m going to stay up all night or have a little sleep and just be tired. I’m not too sure what the plan is.

Either way I’ll have a good time. I’m not sure how good an idea it is to not go to sleep.

“Last year after I’d won I got interviewed live on the radio on the phone and accidentally swore, which I’ve never done on the radio, ever.”

Tom was recently announced on the line-up at All Points East festival in Victoria Park, East London. He will perform on May 30.

It’s no wonder he got snapped up after his album What A Time To Be Alive was the second biggest debut of 2019, beaten only by Lewis Capaldi.

Despite his success, Tom received just one nomination while rapper Dave, who sold fewer records, got four.

Tom said: “I was a bit upset I wasn’t included in the Male Solo Artist category, but what can you do?

“There’s no point crying over something that hasn’t happened. It’s just like, get on with it. I’ve already won a Brit Award and I’ve been nominated for another one, it’s pretty damn good.”

He’s got the right attitude.

NICOLE Scherzinger has introduced Brit boyfriend Thom Evans to her parents in LA. He told OK! magazine: “I visit as much as I can. I went out for three weeks over Christmas. I met her family, so it’s been great.”

Pixie's moody stare

PIXIE Geldof didn’t look too happy on the London Fashion Week catwalk.

She appeared in Tommy Hilfiger's show at Tate Modern on Sunday alongside Naomi Campbell and Lewis Hamilton.

But Pixie poked fun at her moody look on Instagram, referring to herself as “grumpy cat.”

I hope she got some free designer gear out of it.

GC has a wee worry

GEMMA Collins has issued one of the weirdest pieces of advice you will ever hear.

On her BBC podcast, the GC said: “I am not taking my phone into the toilet any more.

“You could be there relaxing on the toilet and the whole time someone is listening and watching.

“This is is a serious warning. Do not take your phone into the toilet. This is going back to the whole Big Brother thing. Some- one is listening, some- one is watching us.”

  • JUSTIN Bieber and Tame Impala are in a tussle for this week’s top album. The Aussie rocker’s The Slow Rush has sold 10,474 since Friday with Justin’s Changes 938 copies behind. Lewis Capaldi is at No3 and New Hope Club at No4.
  • SIMPLE Minds and Deacon Blue will play the Nocturne Live concert series at Blenheim Palace, Oxon, on June 19. Simply Minds’ Jim Kerr said: “You’ll hear all the classics and for the hard core we’ll be playing some songs that we haven’t played for a while.”
  • FANS of SIA will get new tunes as soon as she has finished her film Music. She tweeted a fan: “I have a few features coming up but am focused on my movie, which is now due for release Sept. After I promote that I’ll put out a new album. I have two waiting to go!”
