BTS’s Weeklong Takeover of The Tonight Show Starts Tonight

BTS mania is in full effect. The K-pop sensation has racked up some impressive appearances over the past few weeks, from the Video Music Awards to NPR’s Tiny Desk, and now, they’re seizing late-night TV with a weeklong takeover of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

For the special event, the seven-member boy band will deliver a different musical performance each night, as well as join host Jimmy Fallon for comedic sketches and interviews, according to Entertainment Weekly. The Tonight Show will continue to feature other guests for each episode as usual, with BTS serving as the lead guests on Wednesday night.

“I’m so excited to have BTS back on the show. We just started the new season and we’re working on a lot of really exciting things,” Fallon told EW last week. “One thing that is important to us at The Tonight Show is showcasing talent and creatives, so what better way to kick things off than a full week with them. And this is just the start.”

This isn’t the group’s first time linking up with Fallon. Earlier this year, they went above and beyond with a performance set in Grand Central Terminal and sketches in iconic NYC scenery, like the subway and Katz’s Deli. They also stopped by NBC Studios for a traditional interview and performance back in 2018.
