Disgraced Sherif Lanre banned from Love Island Aftersun in ITV snub

Sherif Lanre has been banned from appearing on Love Island: Aftersun this Sunday after he was chucked out of the villa for a "silly mistake".

The 20-year-old chef and semi-pro rugby player will not be allowed to debrief in front of the cameras or be shown his best bits after producers threw him out of the villa yesterday.

Instead, Sherif will be sent home back to his normal life with none of the usual fanfare that surrounds cast members who get voted off the show.

"There are no plans for Sherif to appear on Aftersun," an ITV source told Mirror Online.

We revealed yesterday how Sherif's appearance on the show was in jeopardy as producers went into crisis talks over his future.

Sherif was booted off the ITV2 programme for showing "poor judgement" in his behaviour, and issued a grovelling statement of apology blaming his bad conduct.

"In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa," he said.

"I regret that I didn't conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.

"I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside."

A Love Island insider told Mirror Online yesterday: "Sherif made a silly mistake and was immediately summoned to the Beach Hut – it wasn't a criminal matter and he was spoken to and agreed to leave.

"Sherif knew he had to leave immediately after being called to the Beach Hut. No security were involved."

With Sherif not allowed to attend Aftersun, producers will be scrambling to find a panel that can fill the airtime.

Caroline Flack hosts the spin-off episode every Sunday night, and usually that week's ex-Islanders will make a guest appearance to talk about their time in the villa.

It's an opportunity for the stars to be shown their best bits in a video montage and to dish the dirt on the other Islanders.

However, last year Niall Aslam became the first Islander to walk after finding the villa tough to cope with as he has Asperger's syndrome – a form of autism.

He didn't go on Aftersun, choosing instead to fly straight home to the support of his family.

Malia Arkian, who was chucked out of the villa minutes after she arrived in series 2, was barred from appearing on Aftersun for fighting with Kady McDermott .

Malia was seen on camera pushing, shoving and swearing at Kady for spilling wine on her leg on her first night in the villa – and was swiftly removed by security.
