EASTENDERS fans have predicted a shock romance for Stacey Slater after her new wife Eve Unwin arrived in Walford.
The cleaner – played by Lacey Turner in the BBC soap – returned to Albert Square last week following her stint in prison after Ruby told the police that she pushed her down the stairs and made her lose her unborn baby.
But Stacey didn't return home alone as she now has a new wife called Eve, who she met in prison.
She later explained to her mum Jean that they're just pals and tied the knot so that Eve could tell the judges that she has a stable home to go to after her release.
However, viewers think that there is a little more to their relationship and think that they will end up falling for each other.
One wrote on Digital Spy forum: "I get the feeling Eve wants it to be more though."
A second pointed out that there could be potential to be a serious relationship because of all Stacey's previous failed relationships.
"Maybe the fact she has all these bad experiences with men has made her fall for a woman," another said.
But others were questioning if it was true because Stacey has never been with a woman on the show before.
A third added: "Just because she's slept with a lot of men doesn't mean she can't have developed feelings for a woman now."

Stacey's new wife Eve made her first appearance on the hit show on Friday when she got into a fight with Zack Hudson at The Prince Albert.
Eve thought that he was Stacey's ex Martin Fowler and decided to smack him in the face.
She shouted: "That's payback for Ruby from Stacey!"
EastEnders isn't actress Heather Peace's first soap job.
The star has also played Anne Cullen in Emmerdale from January to June 1997.
She's also played a mountain rescue team member called Ali in Coronation Street in 2008.
