EastEnders character Lily Slater has been recast ahead of her return to Albert Square next week alongside mum Stacey Slater.
Actress Lilia Turner is to replace long-term actress Aine Garvey who portrayed the role of Lily between 2014 and 2019 before her character took a hiatus in light of Stacey's departure.
Lillia has previously appeared on EastEnders back in 2019, playing Alyssa, a keen footballer in two episodes alongside Mitch and Mick.
Stacey Fowler [Lacey Turner] will return next week after over a year off work but the character has one thing on her mind as she steps onto the famous square – revenge.
The character who is still married to Martin Fowler is furious upon discovering that he has since moved on and found love with her best friend, Ruby Allen.
Stacey is set to make the new lovers know she's unhappy with their decision to start dating one another.
Despite once being the closest of friends, Ruby and boyfriend Martin are less than impressed when Stacey rocks up.
Nightclub owner Ruby informs her ex-pal that she should stay in East London so Martin can see his children that he shares with his wife.
However, Stacey is in for yet another rude awakening after discovering her mum is not happy with her.
Stacey fled the Square last year after a bust-up with notorious gangster Phil Mitchell but failed to tell her mum why she left, leaving Jean to face breast cancer alone and the death of her lover, Daniel.
An emotional Stacey reveals to her cousin, Kat Slater, that she's worried her mum might never forgive her for vanishing.
Ruby is set for heartache later in the week as she confronts Martin after believing he still has feelings for his estranged wife.
However, he reassures the businesswoman that nothing has changed in their relationship.
Could Ruby have her heart broken?
