Edwina Currie has come under fire from those watching Good Morning Britain today after she suggested Boris Johnson shaking peoples hands at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic was similar to Diana, Princess of Wales shaking HIV patients hands.
Taking to Twitter to comment, one said: “Edwina Currie completely missed the point, Diana shook hands with HIV patients was demonstrate that you couldn’t catch HIV that way. Completely different modes of transmission. #GMB.”
“Edwina Currie on #GMB comparing Boris shaking hands with Covid patients to Princess Diana shaking hands during the AIDS epidemic is an absolute disgrace!” Another mentioned.
A third wrote: Edwina Currie comparing BoJo shaking hands with covid victims to Princess Diana shaking hands with AIDS sufferers. I can’t believe what I’m hearing. #GMB,” someone else tweeted.
One more added: “Edwina Currie missing the point. Diana shaking hands with HIV patients was to (correctly) demonstrate that you couldn’t catch HIV in that way. Covid 19 is passed through social contact. Completely different modes of transmission. #GMB.”
