Good Morning Britain has been hit by 273 complaints over their controversial interview with Shamima Begum, Ofcom revealed today.

The morning show was hit by a flurry of complaints after they invited Shamima to be a guest on the show.

The 22-year-old ISIS bride was interviewed by Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley and stated she was sorry for joining the Islamist group ISIS and is seeking forgiveness from the UK.

Susanna and Richard both grilled her about her intentions and whether or not she should be forgiven.

When Richard asked Shamima if she would still be in ISIS if they had not been ‘destroyed’, she said she would “rather die” than rejoin the terrorist organisation.

Her appearance sparked outrage from viewers as they questioned why she was being given a platform and they took to social media to voice their fury.

One said, “I’ve enjoyed watching @gmb last few years but given its attempts to treat Shamimia Begum as the special guest, I feel the barrel scraping has gone too far. Awful, distasteful on so many levels”

Another commented, “#GMB sick idea for breakfast show having #ShamimaBegum on, no respect for the dead and wounded let her rot”

“I feel @richardm56 is doing well in this interview @GMB Totally wrong to allow her airtime, I think I can see it in his face ! Please don't feel sorry for her @susannareid100 I can't watch anymore it's making me feel angry,” someone else chimed in.

While a fourth stated, “Shamima Begum should not be on tv here in the UK & she shouldn’t ever be in our country here again! She made her bed, she can lay in it!”
