On Wednesday’s This Morning, Josie Gibson was back to present the show alongside Phillip Schofield, while Holly Willoughby is off sick. The duo invited agony aunt Deidre Sanders to the programme, where she answered ITV viewers’ questions who called in for help.

However, during one heartbreaking phone call, Josie broke down in tears after one caller spoke about the death of her unborn child.

The viewer called Ellen spoke with Deidre about how she “can’t face Christmas” this year as she is struggling to come to terms with her loss.

The heartbreaking moment got too much for Josie as she told her: “Christmas is a hard time for people.”

“I had a stillborn baby earlier this year and I struggling to feel festive this year,” Ellen explained.

Ellen went on to ask whether Deidre had any ideas as she was feeling really anxious about the festive period.

Deidre replied: “I am so sorry. It must have been such a dreadful time for you and I completely understand that it might be clouding any thoughts of having a good Christmas.

“I think the important thing to say is, don’t try and hide that away.

“You have been through one of the worst experiences that you can go through.”

“So, you need to honour that,” the agony aunt added.

“Remember his name and I would suggest you create a special day before Christmas.

“Maybe think of doing something special in his memory. Celebrate what you did have.

“Don’t try and hide your tears and that might try and free some feelings up.”

Many viewers took to social media following the segment to comment on Josie’s compassion for the caller.

Hannah penned: “Josie showing genuine emotion which is a rarity on #ThisMorning usually. Please can we keep her?”

Jennifer said: “Josie is so lovely and compassionate isn’t she xx.” (sic)

While Jen tweeted: “Love the fact that Josie wears her heart on her sleeve and not afraid to show her emotions. I really like her as a presenter!”

“Awww Josie showing so much compassion towards Ellen,” Charlie commented.

As Jodie said: “Poor Josie trying to keep it together, bless her.”

Josie co-presented Tuesday and Wednesday’s This Morning after regular presenter Holly came down with a stomach bug.

Viewers have loved seeing Josie co-host with Phillip and many have called for her to become a permanent presenter.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
