Kanye West claims he's changing his name to 'Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West'

KANYE West has claimed he’s changing his name to Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West.

And no, it doesn’t sound like he’s joking.

The rapper announced his news during a surprise appearance at the Fast Company Innovation festival in New York on Thursday.

Kanye said: "People say it's crass to call yourself a billionaire, but I might legally change my name to Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West for a year until y'all understand exactly what it is… It will be on the license plate.”

He also spoke about his presidential ambitions.

Addressing the crowd he said: “When I run for president in 2024 …” at which point the audience burst into laughter – which didn't go down well.

“What y’all laughing at?" he said. "We would create so many jobs! I’m not going to run, I’m going to walk.

"When you see headlines saying Kanye’s crazy — one in three African Americans are in jail and all the celebrities are in jail also because they can’t say nothing, they got no opinion, they’re so scared!”

According to Page Six, he also called Rome “the original Silicon Valley and spoke about “the popularity of Angry Birds among women” while claiming to be scared of numbers.

The rapper also informed the crowd that “there are only four elements: earth, wind, fire and water. And therefore playing with your iPhone is the same as playing with dirt”.

The 42-year-old, who has just released his most religious-leaning album, Jesus Is King, is indeed a Christian, regularly holding musical worship sessions all over the US, and at his LA home, called Sunday Service.

He recently splashed out £3m to buy the house next door to his original £46m LA home he shares with wife Kim Kardashian.

Earlier this year Forbes estimated his net work in 2019 was £187m made through music sales, clothing deals and his trainer line.
