Loose Women cause a stir as they talk Meghan Markle and Harry conspiracy theory

The Loose Women were discussing Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 's decision to take a step back from Royal Family duties today.

And as part of this discussion, host Ruth Langsford told her fellow cast members about a conspiracy theory she'd heard.

Eamonn Holmes' wife told the rest of the panel that many think Meghan and Harry have made their announcement now to distract from the Prince Andrew scandal.

Prince Andrew – the Duke of York – stepped down from royal duties himself after being linked with Jeffrey Epstein.

Ruth said: "There's a conspiracy theory that Meghan and Harry announced this now to take heat off the Prince Andrew story."

She then added: "I'm gripped by it."

Fellow panel member Denise Welch wasn't a believer of the theory though.

She replied: "Although Andrew will be glad the heat is off him, I don't think it is.

"I think this has been planned (by Meghan and Harry) for some time."

Viewers of the show had their say about the conspiracy online too.

One said: I think Harry made his mind up as a young man that once he was married with a family he would step back- purely down to his mothers untimely death."

Ruth's comments came after her husband Eamonn Holmes slated Meghan on TalkRadio.

The host said: "[Meghan] is playing the role of her life. I just find her incredibly irritating."

"I've never met her either but I look at her and I think, 'I don't think I would like you in real life. You are just that awful, woke, weak, manipulative, spoilt…'"
