Meghan McCain has been one of the iconic The View co-hosts over the past four years. The Republican pundit sparred with Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar over differences in political ideologies. However, when the ABC daytime talk show returns in the fall, McCain will not be debating politics with them anymore. The political analyst announced she was leaving the show at the end of July and now McCain has revealed what she has planned next.
What will Meghan McCain be doing after ‘The View’ on ABC?
Love her or don’t, McCain has left her mark on The View taking the right-wing stance on the show over the last four years. Despite continuously facing backlash from some of the viewers, the Republican star has shown she is a political debater that doesn’t go down easily. McCain didn’t always have the popular opinion and had to regular face four opposing views that often made things interesting for fans of the show.
The times that McCain has been on the popular side of opinions is when she talks about The Real Housewives. McCain is a huge fan of the Bravo franchise and often talks about the shows as they air on TV. She recently talked about a tweet that Bethenny Frankel posted regarding fans wanting her back on The Real Housewives of New York City.
In Frankel’s response, she didn’t say she would not come back to the franchise and McCain made a note of that. She called Frankel’s answer “a very artful spin” and also made suggestions to producers about casting.
“Also, I would actually start watching it again if they did this. Also, bring back Dorinda Medley,” McCain tweeted.
Medley happened to see McCain’s tweet and added, “Thank you for missing me now come up and visit me already!!!”
“As soon as The View ends, my very first priority is Blue Stone Manor!” McCain tweeted back.
McCain is seemingly planning a trip to the Berkshires following her exit from the talk show at the end of July. Blue Stone Manor is where Medley resides and the home where she has hosted some of the most iconic moments in RHONY history.
Why is Meghan McCain leaving the talk show?
McCain surprised The View viewers when she announced she was leaving the show. The controversial political pundit said that she would be departing at the end of July when the show wraps up its current season.
“I am just going to rip the Band-Aid off. I’m here to tell all of you, my wonderful co-hosts, and the viewers at home that this is going to be my last season,” McCain said on The View. “Covid has changed the world for all of us, and it changed the way, at least for me, the way that I am looking at life, the way I’m living my life, the way I want my life to look like.”
McCain said that after having her baby, she thought it was best to stay in the D.C. area where she has been living since the pandemic struck.
The View airs weekday mornings at 11 a.m. ET and 10 a.m. CT/PT on ABC.
